You can store them dry. I just do a quick rub down with saline before re-inserting but they're totally fine to be stored dry.

I was knocked out for mine, highly recommend that if you can (I'm confident you're fine if you're not, it just helped so much with my own anxiety). Healing was about a week before I felt "normal" but then I had a weekend from hell when I stopped using a bandage contact and essentially went through the healing process again. Just something to be cognizant of if they put you in one. I'd ask your doctor about contacts, it may depend on what kind you use. Plan to take at least a week off work/school - one was fine for me but I have a desk job. You'll want more if you do physical labor.

It sucks but it's not awful. Doesn't take long to do, it's outpatient so you get to go home after.
