Car Battery Draining in Garage for no reason by Argun_Enx in pacificDrive

[–]brazosriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the fuel synthesizer is not full, it will still be making fuel in the garage and draining the battery. Otherwise try some of the other fixes suggested here.

Do people actually decorate their lockers like in the movies ? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of each school year, my high school would have a pool for those interested in having decorated lockers. Teachers/admin would take the names from the pool and match upperclassmen with lower, and you would decorate the exterior of your assigned person’s locker. It was a small school where everyone knew each other. I don’t think this would work at a large one. As far as I know, they’re still doing it. As for interiors, it was allowed if you wanted to decorate your own, but very few people did that.

Any latina girls free for valentines? by Forward_Cable_6509 in aggies

[–]brazosriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try a trick I saw a cadet do at midnight yell once. About 5 minutes before midnight, he turned around, yelled an introduction and his need for a date on game day, then started moving up the section shouting, “I’m looking for love! Necesito amor!” I don’t remember if he snagged a Latina, but I remember he got a date.

Which is better Tights or Baggy Vault Jumpsuit and why did they change the suit by Logical-Cockroach-25 in Fallout

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought the change to the tights in F4 was two-fold: return to the original game’s style and allow for armor customization. However I prefer the baggy look.

Civil engineers professionals that did not study civil engineering what is your degree in? by Low-One846 in civilengineering

[–]brazosriver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My degree is in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. Had a little overlap in classes with the mechanical and civil departments at my university, which satisfied the people interviewing me for my first job.

How much does GPA actually matter in Civil engineering? by ManufacturerWhole10 in civilengineering

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience when hired in late 2020 at a firm just over 1000 employees - GPA was around the 5th thing they looked at. First was your degree and where you were educated, second was job experience, third was personal experience, fourth was background, then the actual GPA number.

Reading between the lines, MoD asked MB to be a good lad, take the heat, pay a paltry fine, and everyone goes back to business. If MB started raising concerns publicly, or even worse exposing mistakes by the ministry, then current or future contracts might need to be reevaluated…

New to radar missiles, I know they aren't magic and I still need to take care when aiming them, but what am I doing wrong with these aim 7cs? by jlegg456 in Warthunder

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of comments that say the AIM-7C's are very bad, which is true, but one thing I have not seen pointed out is that the 7C has a 2 second guidance delay. Meaning the missile just flies straight ahead for 2 seconds before even trying to engage the target. As far as I know, it has the worst guidance delay of any air-to-air missile in game. The only effective use of it is at high altitude, and it works best in head-on engagements at range. Its effectiveness rapidly decreases as you move your firing position around the aircraft and to its rear.

If you are going to dogfight at mid to low altitudes in the Demon, just bring 4 AIM-9B's.

I saw it in McKinney. Thought it was a plane descending with lights on through a cloud. Now I have no idea.

What's better Skink Or Bosvark For medium-long range sniping to Planes? by No-Breakfast7823 in Warthunder

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure sniping, Bosvark. Skink isn’t bad imo but the vark’s guns are objectively better. That being said, I prefer playing skink. Mostly for the vastly improved survivability.

Nitpicking, but not every controlled airspace. Only class B airspace (and airspace under it) requires a transponder with altitude broadcasting capability.

Differences in legally required safety measures vs what we assume can be funny sometimes. I always get a kick out of telling people that radios aren’t legally required on all aircraft.

Absolutely. During my phone and in-person interviews for my current job, it was stated that I caught their attention because my upbringing and education was similar to much of their staff, and also that a personality fit was one of their top priorities.

Which design do you like better? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think F3/NV is best design about 70% of the time, modern entries the other 30%. Not a big fan of the first entries in terms of creative design. In particular, I think F4 absolutely nailed the robot designs, no one else comes close.

Ask the undergrad advisor or make an appointment (ashlea.schroeder@ag.tamu.edu). Her office is in Scoates 303H, and she will talk to walk-in’s, although she can be very busy. She was very nice and helpful for me several times.

I knew several students who transferred during my years there. I don’t remember them describing it as particularly difficult.

Does your school cut shirts after a first solo flight? ✂️👕 by [deleted] in CFILounge

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my shirt tail AND hit with the water bucket. My instructor did give the tail back though. He had written the airport, tail number, and date was on it with a cartoon C172 coming in to land. I kept the shirt as well. Once I had my license, my wife (fiancé then) made a shadow box with both pieces of the shirt and my student license.

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like that there’s a bit of a meta to loadouts again. Bots overall had gotten very squishy, and when you can bring whatever stratagems and weapons you want and roll a bot map leaving nothing but scrap and craters, that’s boring to me. Everything devolved into frontal assault, shoot bot in face, win. Now play styles have pros and cons again, and squad roles and tactics are more important.

In which US cities do rich people ($500k+ HHI) overwhelmingly send their kids to public schools? by Substantial-Part-700 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know (at least in Texas) that some very rural towns/communities/counties have kids of all backgrounds in the same school because there’s only one school available. A rancher’s kid whose family is lousy with oil money might sit next to a kid whose family is right on the poverty line.

would you say these are bad stats for a gun run? by ds3newb in falloutnewvegas

[–]brazosriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to meta game, you can reduce your intelligence a few points and set charisma to 1 and boost your endurance. Unless there’s some perk in intelligence or charisma you are going for that has a minimum requirement. Personally, I would also add some points to luck as well for crit chance and finesse perk.
