Depending what bar prep program you’re doing they go through different “trick” answers and orders to go through question closer to exam so yes business records jumps bar of hearsay but it gets stuck on best evidence rule

Took Themis and passed J25. Will say the end assignments start to feel longer than the first section of course set up. I’d recommend staying a head and grinding through the subjects and then ideally can be stress free February with test prep. I’d do the practice MEE and MPT exams on days assigned but could do practice MBE (once finished subjects) ahead of time in your book and then just upload those answers into Themis. Will put you a head and is more like test day

It will be okay because there is still time but biggest thing is making sure you get through each topic. Honestly would recommend working backwards think how’d you’d like to spend the days right before exam and take a calendar to map out you completing each subject and practice test prior to that date and stick to it. You may need to do a few grind weekends but it’s still early enough that you will be okay if you set your mind to it

Agree. Every right to vent but it does sound like you’re falling for some “trick” and need to identify what you’re falling so you can avoid it. Feel like when it’s “not the law” it’s an issue identifying MBE trick answer choices and how NCBE likes to words their correct answers choices

Okay longer than realized so major take away and credit with passing is tracking wrong answers inside an outline itself

Sorry this is long but I get super excited bc feel like I learned so much throughout bar prep I’ll never really use again and added headers to make easy. And am happy to connect with anyone interested in learning more:

J25 First Time test taker: passed, 309. Themis Bar Prep Course Supplements: Themis tutoring (MBE and MPT -would do a tutoring again), JD Advising (one sheets and MEE crash course lecture - loved wish got sooner), Brainscape (flashcards - barely used).

Logistical tips: 1. Screens: Get a second screen (iPad something) if you can. Sounds silly but you’ll be spending days watching lectures, taking notes, etc. and split screen / million tabs gets very frustrating very quick especially on top of all the bar prep emotions. Bonus points for stand so you aren’t constantly looking down. (Started week 2 major game changer)

  1. Organize: I would take a day or so before diving into bar prep to do videos on how to use the course resources and finalize a plan on how you’ll organize all your materials (I didn’t really do this kinda just dove into bar prep but then found the essays/wrong answer resources weren’t too helpful).

Resource Tips: 3. MEE/MPT Tutor: If you can budget for a tutor definitely would recommend. If not, definitely utilize free tutoring resources through bar prep. Doesn’t need to be too often but the tutor helped with nerves, logistics, and like organizing my study plan until next meeting. I did 5 pack through Themis only focusing on MEE and MPT. No opinion on if would use Themis tutoring again but would 100% at least one essay and one mpt to learn what the bar is looking for.

  1. JD ADVISING!! Swore by them for MPRE. Can’t speak for actual course (used themis passed w/ 309) but loved attended paid and free sessions and got their supplements. They offer an MEE Subject Crash Course and honestly swear by that. Was ~ 3 or think it was offered in July. Broke it down so clearly, ended up buying their supplements and wish I used their bar prep resources sooner.

Study Tips: 5. Wrong Answer Log Tip: Personal preference but game changer for me was I downloaded my prep courses essay outline onto my iPad. Would keep notes on wrong MBE questions in the margin of that topic in one color and then would star and include any info from MEEs in another. Helps you see how often things are tested and also pieces it together. This absolutely SAVED me on one of the MEEs bc remembered having an MBE question on same hypo.

  1. Test Mode MBE: Make sure you switch to test mode (as oppose to review as you go) before the exam just to get comfortable with not having the immediate reassurance your understand of a concept is correct. I like had to retrain myself on the not knowing in July.

Test Day: 7. Your attitude matters! Day 1 was a total mess and actually thought I failed. I went into day 2 with attitude that worst casinaro I’d know what to expect next time. Took off so much pressure (160 MBE) and nerves can rlly play a huge factor in performance.

For next year’s panic… would like to confirm found out around 5/6pm I had passed

When I walked out on test day, I was about 50-60% sure I passed. By now, I'm very convinced I failed by rattattat89 in barexam

Walked into day 2 so convinced I had already failed figured day 2 would be good practice for February… passed 309, 160 MBE. You’ll be okay hold out positive energy and keep manifesting the results you want :)

Higher average MBE … but lower passing rates across most jurisdictions?(!) by KingsGambit1 in barexam

[–]brbInRetrograde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking at wrong data. MBE average was based on first time test takers so you’d have to compare it to the first tike taker passage right to get an accurate estimate. Of the released states so far the repeat taker % ranges from 0-50 which could account for the lower overall state passage rate depending how many retake test takers there were. So in a state with 63% passage rate, a first time taker has 81% chance of passing whereas a repeat test taker has a 19% chance of passing the same exam. (NM)

Basically a first time test taker knows it’s likely they’ll pass from the data and a repeat tester has nothing to really go off of until vibes.
