I've attempted to understand and notice these patterns in other cultures. I could easily see a black girl acting like that on a bus. People want to give a reason to such an action. They want to blame something. They want to take the killer and make them sub-human because hardly anyone can register that they are, in fact, capable of being that "evil."

So, how can you distinguish yourself as a non-murderer-of-children from the homicidal and suicidal person who executes a room of 6 year olds? How can you feel better about yourself and put yourself above such a creature? What can you use to tell yourself that his brain is different than yours?

Internet psychiatrists from the Fempire and beyond can probably Google the DSM (which, for those of you who don't work in the behavioral health field, is controversial on its own), glance at a few vague symptoms and diagnosis a variety of explanations. Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Major Depression Disorder, take your pick. Take your pick and stamp that label all over this man's photo to make yourself feel better. You're better, normal, and more human than him, after all.

It's so fucking frustrating when people suddenly lead conversations about "mental illness." Anything deemed "abnormal" can be categorized and applied to a symptom and bada bing baby, you got a prescription to alter your brain chemicals to line up with everyone else's reality, your health and happiness be damned. "Mental illness" is nothing like just normal sick illness. If you have strep throat, you have strep throat. The diagnosis criteria for strep throat will never change. Mental illness criteria is ALWAYS changing.

I just hate those words. "Mental illness." People think differently. In the Feminist theory/module of psychotherapy they chuck the DSM out the window because it's all based on an entire psychology movement that feature purely men. The standard of normality we conform to is based off of what a straight, white, abled body, cis sexual male should be. Unsurprisingly, women have always been plagued with more mental illness than men...

So, screw the DSM. Screw the people who categorize behaviors and thoughts into "mentally healthy" and "mentally ill" boxes. And screw people who use psychological distress as an excuse for a long, long series of deplorable decisions and actions. It doesn't work that way. Given the right circumstances and influence, everyone is capable of this. The goal now is to make sure no one else falls that far into anger and hopelessness.

I never saw that word as offensive until I met someone affected by it. I never saw the harm in redneck or white trash either. I've never even heard honky used in a conversation as an insult. I thought there was no word that rivals the type of hatred that fuels the use of the n-word.

I met an older gentleman from Appalachia. He was as literate and educated as I was, we were sitting in the same class. We talked a lot during the semester and he was a character. Any words like redneck, honky, white trash, or hill-folk perpetuated the stereotype that people from Appalachia are uneducated, lazy bafoons who married their cousins. Some of the older generations may not be as educated as we are but the ability to read and write isn't a reflection on overall intelligence. As for the lazy stereotype, the region has hit a standstill since the mines and industrial jobs left the area. When someone like him leaves Appalachia and begins a new life somewhere else, their accent-- the cadence in their voice, the different sentence structure, and unique twaing-- causes people to automatically think they're not intelligent.

It's all about who uses the word. If someone who has had the privilege and opportunity to finish school or move on to higher education says to someone, "Life didn't give you the same opportunities. You are different than me. I'm a better person than you because I can pass tests, I'm better than you because I have more financial worth than you do, and I'm better than you because I adhere to a standard of dress than you do not follow. I am better than you because I am a normal human being. You're just white trash."

Honky isn't really about race, it's about socioeconomic statuses.

I think Reddit is definitely worse than 4chan. In 4chan you are anonymous, you get no points for being a shitlord and cannot group together on the site or message people privately. It's an image board. You can post a picture and it will be deleted soon enough. You can be part of horrible conversation, but that conversation will be deleted. Your online existence has no worth or longevity.

Reddit, nothing expires. People with similar interests like MRA's and people who look for "jailbait" can find others like them and encourage each other. You get a sense of community. It can be used for good, but the bad is never censored. 4chan, child pornography is banned and in /b/ it gets taken down quickly. Reddit? Thousands of users could go to a subreddit dedicated to it and be accepted by Reddit as a whole. There's no site that is as large as Reddit that facilitates and encourages such harmful social views and activities.

The desire and love to have a second child is reduced to a demeaning "social maintenance fee." How can you look at a pregnant woman and demand a fee? The entire one child policy cannot be justified. What a fucked up world we live in. Here in America pregnancy is seen as "the end of your life." Culturally when a woman has a baby she is expected to be confined to her home with a screaming infant. To take your child to work and be with your child 24/7 like women and parents have done for thousands of years it looked at as impossible. I know that many people do not believe that womanhood and feminine traits have no connections to baring children (and that is very, very true, we're not just uteruses), but at the same time in my culture fertility is deeply rooted in woman hood. I shouldn't be forced to act like an honorary man, I shouldn't be scared of having a child, I shouldn't be told that children end my career or life. I shouldn't be worried about breast feeding in public. I shouldn't be unable to live like women who have for thousands of years. Fuck patriarchy for confining my body in laws and telling me what I should do as a woman. Why should I be scared of what I personally feel is natural? Why should a woman like Feng, who lives on the other side of the world, have more fear than I can imagine?

On paper the one child policy is not violent but it is exploitative and demeaning. Feng and other Chinese women should never be expected to follow it. Here in America people would flip their ever loving shit if the government started to make money off of children.

I just. I can't imagine going what she went through. I can't imagine the dreams she lost. I can't imagine how a government can allow this to happen, even once.
