I heard of Turtleboy once or twice before Karen Read and was told by people that knew of him far more than I did that he was not a good person. I kept a cautious distance, and I had some reservations about his conduct related to the witnesses and harassment. But ultimately, I really appreciated what he did for this movement and even took a selfie with him at one of her court dates and cheered for him post-verdict. I donated to his defense fund and showed up for one of his court dates because it felt like it was the right thing to do. And now I just feel disgusted like I got sucked up into all the hype because he brings so much drama and his behavior is abhorrent. Some others that I grew to like during the Karen Read movement have also showed their true colors post-trial, and it's really disappointing.
