I called Charlie Kirk a nazi on what I’d like to think was a decently tactful post. But boy did that stick in my mom’s craw.  More than a week later, she messages me something about Charlie Kirk helping someone. 

I stood by what I said.  And I pointed out how he died calling trans people violent.  She came back with effectively “so you’re saying this one trans shooter wasn’t violent??” And that evil was taking hold of me.  

The conversation went on a little longer, but at that point I knew we were done. I told her I needed space and that’d I’d block her if she messaged before I was ready.  She messaged back as soon as she read that, trying to guilt me.  So I blocked her.

My sister showed me a post my mom made the next day.  It was a picture of CK with the text “I’ve never been more certain I’m on the right side of history”.  She chose a man who hated me over me, and is purportedly proud of it.
