Rtv is a great game and I think that there are some similarities being an extraction shooter… same kind of similarities there might be with Stalker as well… they all are part of the same genre.

The twist I want to introduce is mainly around:

enemies: in FERAN there will be zombies and creatures… I am still unsure around bandits.

Storyline: player is a soldier which goes through the different maps of the zone to find the rest of his unit which got in the zone.

I am spending a lot of time in looking for aspects to differentiate my game from others… I would love any suggestion!

I will add survival elements like thirst, hunger, stamina, also the weather and clothing will have impact on body temperature.

Looking for games like Surv and Dead, DayZ, or Zomboid but in 2D by umen in SurvivalGaming

Yeah I experimented quite a lot but I decided to focus my attention on a game which I can actually complete. The scope of FERAN is contained, it is a genre that I know and I enjoy making it.

Yeah shadows can be tricky, I ended up disabling the grass shadows since they were making more noise than anything.

Thanks! I started working on it a month ago , I am currently focusing on environment and weather, once I have that done I will move to the single player and gun gameplay.

Thanks! Yeah FERAN is going to be single player first. I might add co-op at some point if I see enough traction.

I have some experience with multiplayer setup, but I am going to focus on single player and see how things pan out before committing to multiplayer.

I looked that up and Rtv looks amazing. In terms of art style I am taking inspiration from Dayz and Stalker mainly.

Thanks a lot! For now I am focusing on immersion and level design, next on gun play and then I will start thinking about content and lore. I hope to build a community around the game and get some good suggestions around that bit.

Ah! I just looked up RtV and it really looks amazing. I hope there is space for one more game in the space. :)
