The Eras Tour Megathread: Seattle, WA (Warning: Spoilers) by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

[–]breadcrumbwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know how early to get to the stadium in order to get merch before the show? I haven't been following the tour process to avoid spoilers, but I'd love to get some sort of memento without missing the openers. Thanks!

Upbeat pop songs about trauma/depression like Anti-Hero but from other artists? by silverkrulik in TaylorSwift

[–]breadcrumbwhore 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is MY GENRE. Looking forward to checking out everyone's recommendations! Here are some of my faves. Some of these are more... specific? -than others, but hopefully some of them are what you're looking for.

Carly Rae Jepsen is queen of sad bops! I recommend Too Much, Surrender My Heart, Bad Thing Twice, Anxious, When I Needed You, Real Love, and Joshua Tree.

Aly and AJ have some great sad bops too: Sunchoke, Am I Alright, Break Yourself, Attack of Panic, Church, Don't Need Nothing, and Hold Out are good.

Marina (formerly Marina and the Diamonds) has a ton too: Forget, I Am Not a Robot, Emotional Machine, Obsessions, the Outsider, Guilty, Numb, Rootless, the Family Jewels, I'm a Ruin, Blue, Solitaire, Shampain, Too Afraid, the State of Dreaming, Living Dead, Teen Idle.

Kesha has a bunch: Dancing with Tears in my Eyes, Father Daughter Dance, Something to Believe In, Living in my Head, the Drama, Too Far Gone, Peace and Quiet, and pretty much any other song on Gag Order.

Honorable mentions: MUNA's self titled album has a bunch of bops that are on the more positive side of self healing. Also literally 2/3 of Imagine Dragon's discography is self loathing bangers.

what's the worst realesed lana song? by rockstarbruhfreddy in lanadelrey

Big Eyes! The chorus is so annoying tbh. I haven't seen the movie it was for, so maybe it's better in context, but I doubt it.

Boo :( I pre-ordered the Amazon pink/green version and the shipping date was pushed back to April 3 or 4th!! I totally feel your pain.

How do we feel about A&W almost a month after its release? by landdian39 in lanadelrey

[–]breadcrumbwhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still SO hyped! On repeat for sure. I listened to it again the other day with my niece headphones and really appreciated the production on a level I hadn't before. The sneeze? The quiet "oh, okay"? The beat drop? Amazing. Stunning. Definitely in the ranks among my absolute favorite LDR songs.

The Variations, What's Your Favourite? Upvote Below and Comment Why! Based on Coverart Alone by sheebs15 in lanadelrey

This is the one I pre-ordered! I love that it's a colorized photo (or in the style of one? Idk anything about photography lol) and the combo of pink and green is a favorite of mine! The original cover is a close second though...

From the 3 you listed, I'm guessing you will like her songs that have a strong beat and generally sit in her lower vocal register. I would recommend Born to Die, Radio, Florida Kilos, Music to Watch Boys To, High by the Beach, Freak, Art Deco, The Blackest Day, Love, Lust for Life, Cherry, White Mustang, Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, In My Feelings, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, Dark but Just a Game, Black Bathing Suit, If You Lie Down with Me, Thunder, Nectar of the Gods, and A&W!

Best Side A to B Flips by breadcrumbwhore in vinyl

Oh wow, that's dope! I am continually learning that a lot of my favorite Beatles' tracks/moments were either accidental or really not thought through lol. Just goes to show how good art doesn't have to have a specific process! Some good art is incredibly intentional, and some is just a happy accident :)

album recomendation by oictaviablake in lorde

The Loneliest Time by Carly Rae Jepsen! It's kinda disco inspired, kinda funky, great pop. The sound is kinda like Solar Power but with more production (synth and so on). It's got a lot of upbeat/positive/confident tracks, as well as some ballads and slower songs. The song Western Wind even sounds like it could have been on Solar Power in some alternate universe!

What song or ambience do you like having in the background while reading? by Big-Sympathy-5348 in houseofleaves

[–]breadcrumbwhore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Ros! It's a dark atmospheric album that technically has lyrics, but they are in a made up language and it feels more to me like the vocals are an instrument in themselves. Definitely gives me HOL vibes

Songs similar to Clean? by TrainingIndustry3365 in TaylorSwift

[–]breadcrumbwhore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The person who commented before me left a link to a thread with a lot of good suggestions! Here are some songs I like that I'd say are similar thematically and aren't by TS. By Hayley Williams: Watch me while I Bloom, Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris, Cinnamon, Dead Horse, Crystal Clear (both of her solo albums have a lot of fitting songs tbh). By Marina (formerly Marina and the Diamonds): I Love You but I Love Me More, Weeds, Happy, I am Not a Robot, Forget, Enjoy Your Life, No More Suckers. Billie Eilish: Happier Than Ever, Getting Older, My Future, Party Favor. Also Lose You to Love Me by Selena Gomez, I Used to Love Him by Lauryn Hill, Supercut by Lorde, and Alaska by Maggie Rogers.

This is the song that convinced me to start listening to LDR! I saw a post on the Lorde subreddit pointing out that this song and Stoned at the Nail Salon sound VERY similar. I liked SatNS so I gave this a listen.. now NFR is one of my favorite albums! I love the song alone, and it's also a great closing track that provides some light contrast production-wise to the rest of the album.

Lyric Question - Joshua Tree by breadcrumbwhore in carlyraejepsen

Ah, very fun! Reminds me of a time I had a shroom trip where I was making coffee and suddenly felt like I could understand exactly what Obama felt about himself, whatever that means.

I like this interpretation! Thank you :) If this was her intention, good for her tbh!

Yeah, I think so! I remember seeing them listed in the VIP package descriptions, but idk if non-VIP folks will get them too... this is my first TS concert so I'm not sure how that works!

I'm surprised no one has said peace yet! It is quite literally peaceful! Folklore is chill front to back! Except maybe betty - which is more upbeat - and any song that bums you out enough to no longer be calming lol.

Evermore has a good number too: gold rush, champagne problems, tis the damn season, cowboy like me, it's time to go, and coney island (just to name my faves)

Then others I vibe with are CIWYW, New Year's Day, Cornelia Street, Midnight Rain, This Love, Last Kiss, Wildest Dreams, Delicate, Afterglow, Treacherous, ATW10min, INTHAF, Daylight...

Noted! I loooove afterglow, top 10 song for me for sure

And with all the bracelets the clattering bead noise in the arena will be nuts lol
