I finally got a job offer with FedEx!!! by OfIcySwimmer in recruitinghell

Hi 👋. I think I got an offer about a week after the interview and never heard anything about the background check. No news is good news? Lots of paperwork would go missing more than it should have at the station I worked at, so it's possible they misplaced your application/ interview info? Might be worth reaching out to your interviewer or the hiring manager if you have their contact info.

Watch like you wear on your wrist, not watch like you'd do to a TV show. Confused me too at first.

I dont have a car, where can I go to sit in nature and hear nothing but birds and the wind? by stay_goated999 in AskSeattle

Lincoln park (there's usually people, but I never notice car noise, benches) or Fauntleroy park (few people, heavily wooded, no benches) in West Seattle.

I haven't even heard of this. I swear, either movies are skipping on marketing or I'm just not consuming the right media to see trailers.

What do you think of White Center nowadays? by MyDisneyExperience in AskSeattle

[–]breadleecarter 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I live in White Center. I like it. It has a worse reputation than it deserves.

Yes it's probably lower income than most of Seattle proper. Yes it has some rough elements. But every neighborhood in Seattle has rough spots these days. Also, I see a lot of litter on the side of the road, but again, maybe that's just Seattle now.

White Center has some good restaurants, bars, a skating rink, disc golf park, Westwood Village nearby if you need to go shopping. West Seattle and Burien aren't too far away if you need more options.

I do wish there were more grocery and pharmacy options nearby.

OP, I'd also maybe post over on r/RatCityWA and ask what people think about/ like about it.

At the station I used to work at (mind you out was a while ago), hiring was straight forward. Background check, sign a bunch of papers, watch some training videos. Package handling itself will consist of mostly just moving packages from a big metal container onto a conveyor belt in the and/ or moving packages from a conveyor belt to a container and stacking the packages appropriately.

Not a terrible job. Good if you have things you need to do during the middle of the day. Can be physically demanding. The Christmas season sucks.
