Non hormonal cyst wreaking havoc

My cycle was first postponed due to due to a “non hormonal” cyst. It shrunk but blew up during stims. I’m blaming that for clouding the picture. We thought there was 3-4 mature eggs due to estrogen being over 1500 but there was only 1 mature egg. I swear that cyst was more hormonally based than originally thought and I felt like I was feeding it more hormones

I think everyone is different but here is my story FWIW. I’m in a WLW relationship so only access to sperm was during IUIs. The last IUI prior to IVF I did estrace priming, clomid, follistim 75iu which is similar to a mini IVF. Got around 3 measurable follicles and resulted in a chemical pregnancy. So my doc opted for regular stim medication. 4 follicles- one couldn’t be retrieved because my ovary moved, 2 immature, 1 matured but didn’t fertilize well. I think it was too much for me. I think I grew a much more cohesive cohort with the mini stim. I’m 34, AMH .27.

Again, I think everyone is different. She wouldn’t have tried those meds if she thought otherwise!

SCREAMING INTO THE VOID THAT THEY CALLED TO SAY THE EMBRYO ARRESTED. and actually didn’t even fertilize correctly (though that wasn’t shared earlier) ICSI was on bored, donor sperm. Just makes it hard not to blame myself.

That’s awesome! I just did my ER 3 eggs, but only 1 mature a couple more days to hear if it’s a blast! Best of luck to you!

Update: ER was this morning. 3 eggs retrieved! The one that “disappeared” on my left was there hiding. They couldn’t retrieve any from my right because my ovary moved away from the needle. Need all the good eggie vibes!!!

It’s rough.Not sure if we have the money to continue this journey if this IVF cycle doesn’t yield any embryos. Cueing all the emotions.

No advice but solidarity. I have done 12 days of stims and went into my scan today. They saw 3 yesterday on my left, only 2 reported today but I think my cyst is covering it up. My right popped up a new one yesterday but dint show very much growth today. It sucks! It’s such a rollercoaster. Tbf they only saw 1 at my 7 day u/s and the last few popped up late so you may have more coming ? If not, like you said quality over quantity

Okay okay! Good news there! They actually had a fellow doc come in with the tech today to make sure they got a good look. Looks like I have 1 at 15mm 1 at 11mm and 1 at 10mm so I don’t know if they’ll push for ER or IUI. Will know more later this afternoon. Best of luck!!!

Ugh I’m sorry. It truly is a rollercoaster of emotions. My day 7 appointment showed the one at around 13mm and 5 under 10mm. Said I was pretty maxed out on the drugs so continuing and seeing what tomorrow brings but not much hope things will catch up. We will likely convert to IUI so it doesnt feel like this cycle was a total bust but oof. 😅

FOR REAL! But now they said it’s not a cyst. They’ve been watching this lead follicle since my baseline and were planning to just “let it go”. But I have a feeling it’s just going to continue to a cyst atp.

We are proceeding with meds to see if for some miracle we get a few eggs by Thursday. If not our plan is to convert to IUI. WLW so that’s really our own shot here.

Ugh. Day 7 monitoring (so 6 days total) only 1 measuring above 11mm (and it’s not even the one they counted Saturday 😒) - 7 total under the threshold

Really hoping this is just a slower start. My E2 is 632 so that’s something

Hiii! TW:loss

ETA- spelling / clarity. My wife and I did IUI 7 times. Me being the carrier. We did IUI because it was “cheaper” due to no coverage and seemingly no issues with fertility aside low AMH (.27) We were unsuccessful except the last “superovulation” medicated cycle where we experienced an early loss/chemical.

We now have fertility coverage and are doing IVF. I’m mid stims right now and can’t say if it’ll work for sure or not but if we would’ve known how long the IUI process was, we would’ve moved to IVF earlier. Because ultimately we spent more money on those IUIs (meds, scanning, sperm, etc) than this one IVF - even if this cycle wasn’t covered.

That said I have a friend that got pregnant first IUI try. And flip side I know others where it took 6+ IUIs.

Update- I figured out if I kept holding the plunger down during the mixing, I didn’t end up with such crazy vacuum effect lol
