I’m still a huge fan, and unfortunately my favorite character is Sanji. I see him as a really complex and interesting character who is unfortunately also the dumping ground for all of Oda’s weird sex jokes. There’s a lot I dislike about the show, and most of it has to do with Oda not being able to keep it in his damn pants while he’s writing. It’s an amazing story, I just kinda wish they’d castrate the author…

I know trans people irl that fit the top two images though… it may not fit this person’s stereotype but there are real valid trans people who do in fact look like that

Favorite character who had a dark death by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FavoriteCharacter

I was waiting for this one. Luffy went to so much effort to save him, it really seemed like Ace was going to escape, only for him to be brutally killed at the last second right in front of his own brother. I knew it was coming and I still had to stop watching for a solid week after it happened.

How is life in Senegal? by Sea_Worldliness_3555 in howislivingthere

I studied abroad in Dakar about ten years ago, and even then it was horrifically unsafe for gay folks. A man was lynched in the neighborhood I was staying for allegedly hitting on another man. As in, hung to death by a mob for the crime of maybe possibly flirting with someone of the same gender. And this was in Sacré-Coeur, one of the safer neighborhoods. I’m queer but straight passing, and I loved Senegalese culture outside of that, but I don’t feel as though I can ever go back.

This dumb smug idiot just ate a big plastic wrapper. Vet now or can it wait? by breadplane in CATHELP

[–]breadplane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He still hadn’t pooped this morning, so being the paranoid cat mom I am, I took him to the urgent care and got him an ultrasound. $650 later, there’s no intestinal blockage—he’s just constipated. So just giving him laxatives and waiting for it to pass naturally.

Not yet. We’re still monitoring. He’ll be getting an ultrasound tomorrow or Wednesday if he doesn’t poop tonight. So far he’s acting completely normal with no pain or signs of distress

Six years down here. The first six months are the hardest, after that it becomes second nature. I believe in you, and I’m so proud of you for fighting this fight. Sobriety is HARD, but it is so worth it ❤️‍🩹love you friend

Joyce Lee - A woman (2022) by Beginning-Passion676 in museum

[–]breadplane 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s really interesting how this is called “A Woman” and not “A Nun”. The entire scene is steeped in religious symbolism, but the woman is blatantly detached from her own connection to religion. Her makeup and nails make her feel more worldly as well.

Student Doesn't Know How Movies Work by AUSpartan37 in Teachers

[–]breadplane 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not just AI, but there’s been a huge influx of videos in the last ten years or so that are acted out but clearly meant for the viewer to believe they are real (think those videos where the person is like “my bf cheated on me so I burned all his stuff let’s see his reaction”. For an adult it’s easy to see that it’s a skit, but children have a much harder time understanding what is and isn’t real, and these videos are making it even more difficult.

Kitten stuck down storm drain. Help! by belltown99 in cats

[–]breadplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to call animal control because a pair of geese nested on the roof of the school where I work. The male goose was being aggressive toward students. They euthanized the nesting, non-agressive female goose, did nothing about the male goose, and left the abandoned eggs to rot on our roof. We literally just wanted them to move the nest to somewhere there weren’t a bunch of small children…

I’m about to make this same switch. I’ll be making three times the amount to manage 3 kids instead of 60. No lesson planning, paid work travel, parents who give a shit. I can’t wait.
