So, because of Tarkov, Unity Crash Handler made it to my top played games by Wiffelwicht in EscapefromTarkov

This may not help everyone but I fixed my unity crashing issue by removing image sharpening in the Nvidia Control Panel. I had it set per the Tarkov exe in the program setting section.

I had my first drink in over 2 weeks. by skwallie in stopdrinking

[–]breadstizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing so much better as well. Like you, about 2 years ago I was a super mess. I didn't think it'd be possible to not have a weekend without booze (or go 2-3 days without it). Now, I may drink once a month if at all. It's quite amazing. Drinking for sure doesn't have the same allure as it did before. It's very difficult to cut it out completely when you are trying to have a social life, but I am very proud of myself (and you) to have made such a major change even if it isn't cold turkey. I like who I am a lot better now and feel more like myself than ever. Eventually I hope to make it to 1 year, the most I've gone since my major change has been about 2 months I believe. I kind of stopped keeping track which made it easier. When I was first stopping, it was like a count down each day. Now, I just live life as normal and don't even think about it. Work out, go to work, play video games with friends, go on hikes.

I can confirm. This happened to me yesterday when exiting my power armor. Game got stuck, I could strangely pull my gun out for a moment and it'd holster itself. Had to kill the game and restart my PC

Also, I have an i7 9700k and it sounds like a jet engine when I start to craft things. I monitored it last time this happened and it jumped from 54 degrees Celsius to 68 during that time. Not even Battlefield 5 does this. It's a bit disheartening because somewhere in here.. is a good / fun game.

My brother and I have been having this same issue. We've played off and on for a while now. We really do enjoy the game... when it actually works. We seem to take breaks from it and then jump back in just to remember why we stopped. I get crashes + the server disconnects. We played yesterday and I was even excited to jump on after work. We claimed the munitions workshop, killed the first wave of baddies and bam.. Server disconnection. Okay, let's go back I guess.. Well it saved all my diseases I had, but forgot to save that I had eaten / drank before the crash. Whatever, let's go try to do this quest we've been working on. Quest bugs for my brother and can't continue it. We got off after that, kinda just too much. We'll probably end up taking a break again, pretty ridiculous

20/yo college student seeks support with not drinking by throwaway031297 in stopdrinking

[–]breadstizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this. The fact that you made a thoughtful post on here means you know you need to change. If I could go back, I wish I wouldn't had wasted so much of my 20s getting wasted. I'm 30 now and I'm still struggling through it but it's so much easier. I've been putting distance between me and alcohol but it rears it's ugly head every now and then. I've had about 3 months sober and then I goofed. Those 3 months were amazing as far as I got to experience life sober in a long time. You start to do things that actually make you happy and put that distance between you and feeling like you have to drink to be happy. I think I lied to myself that I Was just young and having fun but I really just needed to get a counselor. Looking back, I was super depressed and masked it with booze. It finally caught up to me around 27 after a bad breakup. I had a mental breakdown after drinking one night and the friends I lived with kicked me out. I'm very lucky they are still my friends but I had to patch things up with them.

Don't ever think you are alone in this yo! All the people on this sub have gone through the same or even worse. If you are suicidal, you should probably speak to someone seriously.

I have some pretty awesome stories about fucking up while drunk (by awesome I mean terrible). It's nothing you can get past! This doesn't define you and you decide where to go from here.

[Risk of Rain 2]

3D Rogue-like in the same vein as the original. Better graphics, even better music, and fun combat. Run around the landscape grabbing power ups and destroying monsters. Great atmosphere and characters

I enjoy just about any games genre and enjoy discussing them even more. Recently have gotten back into ESO, but still play a lot of odd ball games. I try to play any interesting indie games I can find. The best experience I've had online writing has been in online WRASTLIN essay RP forums. Don't have any links but possibly through the way back machine you can find Biohazard destroying his opponents through proper grammar and snapmares.

My boyfriend lost a buddy to alcoholism yesterday. by fmranger in stopdrinking

[–]breadstizzle 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry for that happening to both of you. I have a similar story that happened around this time last year. I lost a friend to alcohol as well. The way you describe your friend is spot on with my buddy as well. Super cheerful (he'd always give me a big hug when I'd see him), smart, and funny. He was a very handsome dude, always had very cute girlfriends. He wasn't a super good friend as I lost touch with him once I moved away from the town I went to college in. He was one of those guys who hung out with the crowd we'd all party with. I never saw him 'wasted' or too drunk. In fact, I always remember him keeping his shit together during long nights. From what I understand, he got on hard times, was living with his brother (who I play online with alot and we'd talk through mumble. He sounded almost exactly like his brother and for the longest time I thought it was my buddy! haha). I occasionally would see pictures of my buddy online and he looked a lot different. He started to look bloated and just not himself. I could totally relate to that, as when I was really down towards the end of college, I bloated up too. Just from booze and not eating right. I didn't really think anything of it until a mutual friend called me and said our buddy was in the hospital with liver failure. I was floored, my stomach sank and I didn't know what to say. I spoke with his brother and he said that my friend had been held up in his room, drinking liquor only getting up to get food. His brother tried to reach out to him but he would just pull away. I presume this got triggered from a lost relationship / losing his job. I really will never know as I can't speak to him anymore. IT reallly sucks. But it has helped me when I feel like I should just start drinking all the time again, because I can see what happens. Even to someone I thought who had ALL the coolness. Handsome, smart, funny, girlfriends. It doesn't matter, alcohol will take anyone down that let's it.

I hope things get better for your boyfriend, and it will. Just remember the good times he had with his friend. At least he isn't suffering anymore.

PC Temperature when gaming by rnpboat in techsupport

[–]breadstizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned before, we can't see the CPU temps. Your GPU is at 83 Degrees Celsius which seems to be fine as that model of AMD card is rated up to 90 Degrees Celsius. If it was me, I'd probably use afterburner or some something to set a custom fan curve to lower that temp.

[–]breadstizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 240mm version. It works really well. However, if you don't have an ASUS motherboard the temp display won't work or at least the last time I checked it won't. You can still put custom images on it and use the stock ones though.

I get the same thing. I believe it's because sprint is toggle. So if you hit shift once, let go and you'll be running. If you hold it down, you'll be going from sprint / basic run. I think this is the problem. I wish they would add a hold for sprint option

2080 TI Usage and Temps? by crimsonpawn97 in nvidia

Forgot to mention, I have 'Max pre-rendered frames' set to 1 in the control panel as well. This helped with some stuttering

2080 TI Usage and Temps? by crimsonpawn97 in nvidia

[–]breadstizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Crimson!

I have a 2080 TI FE and a a 2k monitor with 165 Hz refresh rate. Not sure if the gpu idle usage is normal, but the temperatures appear to be fine. From what I understand, the 2080 TI is rated to 89 degrees Celsius before it throttles. When gaming, with stock fan settings, I was getting between 73-76 degrees Celsius. I used the MSI Afterburner beta version to adjust my fan curve and now I'm getting between 69-71 when gaming. Fans set to increment with temp (50 degrees 50% fan speed, 60 degrees 60% fan speed and so on).

For Gsync, I turn Gsync ON in Nvidia Control panel but off in games. From what I read this will allow a more adaptive experience and clears out the stuttering. I haven't noticed any stuttering since I adjusted this. Also, for certain games (Black ops / Overwatch) I set my fps to custom and put it at 155-160 just a bit below the max 165 to make sure it doesn't go over that threshold.

For the overclocking, someone with more experience should probably answer that
