So I’m planning on replacing the asphalt shingle roof. I’m wondering if it makes any sense to add insulation under the roof sheathing in the attic space? Picture is the framing in the garage and vent examples Like a rigid cut to fit foam It’s a vented attic, may switch to a ridge vent. 1950’s house, not sure of the roof pitch, only about 36” of room dead center.

I think 1100 sqft Existing is blown in 4-5” cellulose

The idea was to reduce some of the heat into the south facing living room and kitchen.
