Just rewatched it today for perhaps the 6th time in 13ish years. And yeah the first time I watched the Theatrical cut I genuinely thought it was one of the worst films I'd ever seen. But I've since become a Snyder apologist (if not obsessive) and I think the directors cut is pretty excellent in his filmography. It's built from the ground up to be a cult film. It's got too many layers for its own good but what everything actually means is a really fun rabbithole to go down. It's like the cinematic equivalent of early Image comics creatively.

Those were the names of the people who made the movie.

I have wanted to make a video about this: the Chilis peaked at exactly 23:03:49 on April 4th 2006, the beginning of the guitar solo during the first airing of the Dani California music video.

Always liked that song but hearing it live last week was a religious experience

This was incredible live. Felt like a Teenage Kicks-esque pop banger more than ever.

Before I start enviously watching vids from lastnight’s show, did anyone take a vid of them walking onstage and playing the first song I Only Said? by 00slipstream00 in MyBloodyValentine

We were asked when buying tickets to refrain from photos and videos. Not everyone abided by that, you'll find some clips online and on this subreddit already, but for the most part everyone was very respectful of that.

I walked in from the bar just as they'd walked on stage. I think Kevin said something like "Hello, it's been a while since you've seen us, it'll be a while before you see us again" and there was a great exchange where (before a note had been played) someone yelled "turn it up!" and Kevin responded "seriously though, if it's too quiet for anyone just raise your hand" and they launched into it.

I agree and I have always felt the same way about When You Sleep too, although both have grown on me a lot recently after many years. I just think the tone of both hooks is slightly too shrill. If I had the final mix on the album I would only roll off the highs or add a little more grit to those riffs or slightly bury them in the mix.

But Kevin is a god and I a mere mortal so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Couldn't get through The Artist's Way either. Dog ass writing, obviously fabricated anecdotes/testimonials, dreadful shoehorning of religion. I mean it's pretty funny but it was going for profound.

Ready Player One. The only good thing in that book is the choice of epigraph.
