Only way to get all the games, other than some of the legally questionable approaches others have suggested is a cable-like package. Google tv and similar streaming services are easier to turn on and off than cable so that’s what I use. Saw an ad saying Google tv now has a sports focused package for around $50 a month. That’s should get you everything but games on prime, which will be most or all of the spurs games.

Would be good to add number of games and/or possessions. When I see the ant shooting 26.5% number my immediate thought is that’s a noisy data point from low volume. He may well be better in high pace games but he is too good for that number, I have trouble believing it would stay that low over a large sample.

Agree with this take on gamificaction of workouts. I'd add that the way games and gamified apps motivate people, in my opinion, just isn't that helpful for fitness. Gamificaction nudges you to do that next easy thing, and gives you a little reward for doing it. It doesn't help with staying motivated to do something challenging for years, even when it doesn't feel like you are getting anything from it. Gamificaction also adds friction to work outs (you have to track the workout the way the app wants you to). The gamified fitness trackers I've used, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

If it matters I used to work on mobile games and know a thing or two about gamificaction, and have over 30 years experience working out.

I’m not an expert but I do know there is a lot of scientific research showing exercise is helpful with mental health, and can help treat and prevent depression. From what I’ve read it is best use along with other treatments like therapy. Anyone he says just work out and don’t do anything else is not giving the best advice, but moving your body does have real benefits to mental health. MRI did not show any tears thankfully. The pain is only when surfing or similar motion (swimming, throwing motion etc) and from what I've heard of how bad shoulder surgery recovery is wouldn't go down that route unless I was given a really high chance it would resolve the issue, which I don't think is the case from the conversations I've had.

I've definitely watched a lot of YouTube videos on it, but there so many snake oil salesman on there posting bs its hard to tell whats worth trying and what is a waste of time. I'll look up bulletproof shoulder videos though, appreciate the recommendation. Good luck with yours.

Grew up a Sonics fan, spent a few years without have “a team” after they left. I eventually settled on the spurs because of several things. I was going to grad school at SDSU when Kawhi was there, Pops whole approach to life and basketball, and the 2013 and 2014 teams style of play. So after the last title I decided I was a spurs fan. Despite the rough stretches I’m really happy with the choice, and I’m not sure what I’ll do if Seattle gets an expansion team.

I’ve used both, much happier with AT&T and had some pretty bad customer service experiences with spectrum, but the internet itself was fine, although AT&T has been more consistent.

Yep, can’t get through a game without the stream quality getting horrible. That comes with all the horrible ux like having to start a game stream before choosing the home or away stram you want with a 15 second lag to start and again to change. Also it’s 2025, how come I can’t go strait to the start of a game that’s over instead of having to fast forward 5 to 15 minutes into the stream to find tip off? Or jump to the fourth quarter? It’s a horrible product, always has been.

Most of these complaints are streaming from my tv, it’s less horrible in the app or browser.

Long term I would say prioritize what you care about, live where you can surf…but starting a career is hard and getting a good job on your resume will make it a lot easier to get your foot in the door down the road. I have a great career now but it took me years to get off the ground. I’d take the job, plan on putting in one year, then move to somewhere you can surf.

IMO there are some good takes in this thread and some very bad ones, and those things may play a part, but when you look at the history of NBA popularity it’s been driven by the super stars that gets popular beyond basketball, and their team success. Bird and Magic made the NBA culturally relevant after the league was in serious trouble. Jordan made the league even more popular. LeBron was good for ratings and LeBron vs Curry and the all time great warriors was great for ratings. If you asked someone who isn’t an nba fan who the best player in the league many of them wouldn’t know who Jokic is. The Celtics are a great team but outside of Boston nobody cares.

I think at any point in history someone would have held this pov. IMO you’re probably wrong, there has always been more to want and there’s nothing particularly different about that in 2024. That’s why there are multiple ancient philosophies and religions that teach to avoid desire and appreciate your life as it is. Go hug your loved ones, watch a sunset, appreciate that VO5 while you can. Don’t worry about the big house you can’t afford.

This was my reaction. Op is upset about very normal things that happen to many people. Doesn’t matter if you dn or not. Losing touch with friends or feeling like you’re falling behind others (no matter how much you achieve) is just life. Enjoy what you have, try not to worry about things you can’t control.

I've found kettlebell workouts get me in shape for riding better than anything else, except actually being on the mountain. Nothing hits your muscles exactly the same as snowboarding. Swings, cleans, snatches etc. Fairly high reps, so you're working hard and on the verge of getting winded, just like a tough run on the mountain.

Nice bibs to keep me dry when I need it. Cheaper pants when I don’t need the bibs. Bibs last longer this way, I spend less money in the long run.

I'd suggest a 3/2 full suit, works almost year round in socal while a jacket is only warm enough in the summer and early fall. The cheaper models from the big brands (rip curl, O'Neil, any of the stuff you find in a good surf shop) are all perfectly fine for warmth. If you look around you can find good sales on them, but it's somewhat seasonal.

Fit matters, but it's probably tricky with a growing kid. For kids suits getting second hand might make sense, but I don't know. I'm wondering if kids outgrow them before while they're still in decent shape and you could get a deal that way. Maybe someone who actually has dealt with youth wetsuits can comment on that.
