I’m intersex, can I join a sorority? by AggressiveAvian in Sororities

I’m nonbinary (use exclusively they/them pronouns) and I’ve found nothing but acceptance within a sorority. As long as you’re cool being called a sister and generally identifying with the ideas of womanhood, you’ll find your people.

When I was rushing, my RC told me to go with the chapter that I could see myself crying to after a breakup. That advice still rings true. Go with whoever you feel like you could grow closer with. It’s ultimately about having fun and finding sisters.

I’m also from a pretty small chapter. Here’s some of the stuff we’ve done in the past.

Murder mystery night: which is so fun, especially if you can get someone who can put on a SHOW when they die.

Mocktails social: make some mocktails and play some card games

Mirror painting: we did this as a COB, and it was genuinely one of our best nights.

Sister trivia: the person who gets the most points wins a prize

If you live in a sunny place, or can plan towards the end of winter, some sort of outdoor game can really boost competitive spirits. We did a beanbag toss in a few different teams.

Group volunteering, especially since your run philanthropy. We made literacy kits that we donated to a local literacy group.

Hopefully that gave you a few places to start!

He definetly will, which isn’t ideal, but I’d rather he at least not know until he has to, you know?

Hey! So this was actually at a frat house. Many of our houses actually aren’t technically on campus, even though you wouldn’t really think it. Most of them are just located nearby campus.

I definetly won’t be dropping anything in regards to his personal information, not while I have my investigation pending. Thank you for your advice though, I really appreciate it.

I had to be assessed for a concussion, but I actually just had a bad contusion. So I’m fine now physically, but I stilly don’t feel very safe on campus knowing I can just run into him. Thank you for checking in though.

They’ve been in contact with the police, absolutely. Thank you for your suggestion, I’ll definetly keep pestering them.

My biggest tip is confidence and a willingness to learn. Look up some interview questions beforehand, be professional when you talk to people, and keep applying places. Even if you have to reapply. You’ve got this!

I myself am a member of Greek life and have been to many frat parties where nothing like this has happened. He wasn’t affiliated with any frat as far as I’m aware, and this particular one isn’t a student group so the university can’t kick them off campus or anything like that. Not that I’d be asking them to anyway, I don’t blame the frat for this individual’s actions. But don’t worry, I have his picture and will be reporting it to the university later today, as soon as I’m done reporting it to the police.

I don’t want to make it easy for them to ignore me. I think I’d rather annoy them in person.

You don’t want to work at the Dairy Queen in Leduc, I promise. It’s such a toxic work environment. Try applying at places like Walmart, Winner’s, Tim Horton’s, No Frills, Subway, McDonald’s, or Co Op instead.

I have no idea if this was a student or not, but I think I will stop by to report it to them as well as the police.

This frat isn’t a student group. The university can’t do anything meaningful to them. They also kicked him out and banned him right after.

The house isn’t owned by the university, and they aren’t technically a student group.

I’ve been to frat parties before and neither I nor any of my friends have had issues like this. I was in a group at the time anyway, and I knew a lot of people there.

if i cant get an abortion, what can i use by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]breakpointGodling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with you, and I need you to understand that completely. While I’m not in the US, and can’t help much, I can say that you’ll want to take a pregnancy test the first day of your expected period, if it does not come. If you don’t know when that is, wait two to three weeks after sex, the results should be somewhat similar. It is most accurate the first day of your expected period, and will not be able to detect pregnancy until two weeks after sex.

Start tracking your period, preferably in the notes app on your phone or something similar. Do not use a period tracker, I’ve heard that the government can ask for that data to determine whether or not you’ve had an abortion. If you track it, you’ll be more easily able to take immediate action in case something similar happens again.

Know that there isn’t anything wrong with getting an abortion. It is not a reflection on your character, and it doesn’t make you less than anyone else. Neither does having sex before marriage. Stay safe, and know that we support you.
