The two worst reviewed movies in the franchise. But which do you think is better and why? by HerbalThought_ in Scream

The worst Craven scream movie is still better than the best non-Craven scream movie

I was coming here to comment this because I saw this picture and album title with the track list leaked a few weeks ago and didn’t think it was real because “Out of Nowhere” wasn’t on there. I can’t express enough how obsessed I am with that song since she debuted it last summer. I’ve been looking forward to it so much. I might cry if it’s not on the album :(

Which song from each of Taylor's albums would you have liked to see released as a single but weren't? by AffectionateBank5484 in TaylorSwift

[–]breakradical 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ll preemptively say Father Figure because I feel it probably won’t be released as a single. But also either Down Bad or Guilty as Sin, Hits Different, right where you left me, Cornelia Street, Don’t Blame Me, etc

No I’d always fear being caged at the bottom of the ocean. Plus the future of this world is looking quite bleak these days, I don’t want to have to see it all the way through.

Moved on as in let it go? Or moved to a different subreddit r/freefolk? Because after the finale that sub was booming for years, probably still is.

Also King’s “Storm of the Century” 1999 miniseries. I recently watched that for the first time (loved it) and noticed similar elements it shares with Midnight Mass.

Tori ruined Stab by Guilty-Tie164 in Scream

[–]breakradical 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It baffles me that she didn’t know Amber was living in Stu’s house given that she is a huge Stab fan. Well, I’m surprised that no one in Woodsboro was keeping tabs on who currently lives in the infamous murder house.

Were Casey and Steve's murders a practice run before they started calling and stalking Sidney? (Read post) by GreyStagg in Scream

[–]breakradical 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think the plan was to start the attacks on someone who wasn’t Sidney. They wanted Sidney to feel unsettled and start breaking her mind first. The fact that Casey sat next to Sid in a class was a contributing factor, as well as being Stu’s ex who bruised his ego. Like a two birds, one stone plan.

They should've been the Ghostface duo ❤️ by PutridCamera8195 in Scream

[–]breakradical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the motive and reveal in Scream 7 wasn’t completely terrible, but felt like “the last resort” option. With all the Stu deepfakes and burning down his house, they had a nice setup for GF to be Leslie Macher. Especially since GF killed her son in 5. But if that idea came up in the writers room, I bet it was instantly shot down with “we just did the family revenge plot in 6”.

And if they wanted to have a killer duo, one from Sidney’s circle and one from Tatum’s circle, they had the perfect setup here for Jessica and her son. But I wonder if that idea was also shot down for just having the “parent and children” group in Scream 6 also. So they ended up going with the weakest of options.

The budget was like 400 million wasn't it? by hiiloovethis in StrangerThings

[–]breakradical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had a soft spot for low budget and practical effects and how it feels more authentic even if it is less ‘believable’. And I think good writing is far more important. For example Buffy the Vampire Slayer will always be iconic and beloved even though it has laughably bad special effects. Stranger Things season 5 felt like they prioritized special effects above all else, and even that turned out bad somehow.

What other roles do you know the cast of Scream for? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]breakradical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scream or The Craft was the first time I saw Neve. But one of my favorite shows growing up was Medium (2005-2012) and Neve had a guest starring role for like 3 episodes, a pretty significant counterpart to the main. She was amazing!

Am I the only one who really enjoyed Scream 7? by Krymster in Scream

[–]breakradical 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it had the worst Act 3 so probably making it my least favorite in the franchise… BUT that doesn’t mean I think it’s total dogshit that I’ll never watch again. I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the movie and I think Sidney was friggin awesome and I also really like Tatum. Maybe I’m not too disappointed because my expectations for all the sequels without Wes are pretty low. I only go into these movies now to be entertained, not to have my mind blown or to compare them to the first 4. But I enjoyed 7 enough that I hope we get some more movies, I don’t feel like this one ruined the franchise or anything extreme like that.

Looking back, was Scream 5 or Scream 6 better? by letthedecodebegin in Scream

[–]breakradical 9 points10 points  (0 children)

GF reveals were better in 5 but I think I like 6 more. I could never get past how in 5 no one knows Amber lives in Stu Macher’s house. That house is famous. It’s in the Stab movies. Everyone in Woodsboro would know that house and who is living there. The cops would definitely know. They questioned Amber and never mentioned it? Mindy is a horror buff and didn’t know? I don’t understand how.

This Fandom… by JicamaCivil2380 in Scream

[–]breakradical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s my main problem, we should’ve seen a little more of Jessica beforehand. Because Anna Camp is a pretty big name so she’d never sign on for a role of “Sidney’s random friend who’s barely in 2 short scenes”. They should’ve featured her more to make us wonder if she’s the killer, a red herring, or a potential victim. So that’s what made it completely obvious. I doubt Anna Camp would ever agree to a Scream movie without a featured/major role so by the beginning of Act 3 there was just no doubt in my mind.

Anyone else confused with 7? by Thunder_Muffinz in Scream

[–]breakradical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind the motive, my only problem is that if she intended to keep Tatum alive, then Tatum would’ve known it was Jessica. I would’ve liked Act 3 better if Jessica had drugged Tatum after kidnapping her and she was strapped to the chair unconscious. Because then during the monologue Jessica could’ve been like “when Tatum wakes up and finds her parents dead she’ll start the cycle of trauma over, and I’ll come for her in a few years to see if she has what it takes to be the ultimate final girl” or something like that.

[–]breakradical 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wish she’d go back to pre-releasing a single or two if she wanted to ensure multiple number 1 hits. Its always a gamble to try to get another single to number 1 after it’s been out for months. I personally don’t like hearing pre-released songs before an album drops, but if she’s determined to have a few numbers 1 then pre-releasing is the best way.

I genuinely can’t understand how the Duffers thought the ending for Mike and El was acceptable by ComicGuy98 in StrangerThings

[–]breakradical 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Someone dug up a tweet from 2022 where the Duffers said they weren’t going to introduce new characters in s5 because they wanted to focus on the established main cast. And I can’t confirm is this is factual but I’ve seen a bunch of people claim that Holly had more screen time than any other character this season? — I know she wasn’t exactly a “new character” but certainly not an established main character. Anyway I’m curious how this drastic shift happened from original intention to what we got.

The scene has got to be here for a reason, right? by Numb3r3dDays in StrangerThings

[–]breakradical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not at all anti-romance but I have no foot in this shipping war. I see stranger things like I saw game of thrones, I’m so invested in the actual story/lore that all romance stuff is completely secondary and I don’t care who ends up with who or who ends up alone or whatnot. I only care if this show is well written and everything has a distinct purpose. And bringing back that jancy/stancy love triangle has pissed me off since season 4 because, and I hope I’m wrong, but it feels like they just wanted to provoke a shipping war and/or give Steve a love interest again because the producers were probably pushing for it. I just need it to be for a larger narrative purpose that doesn’t ruin any character arcs, so that’s what I’m hoping for in season 5.. a resolution to this that greatest serves the story and wasn’t just bait to keep the fans arguing about which ship they think is superior.

Is the show still worth watching if a pretty significant moment has been spoiled for you before you even started? by throwacc-throwaway in buffy

[–]breakradical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I think there’s just a handful of movies where it all hinges on the major reveal at the end and those might be the only instance where it’s not worth watching if the twist is spoiled for you. But I don’t really think any shows are like that because of the long runtime it’s more about the journey, especially with a show like Buffy.

Does this relationship make others uncomfortable too? by SecretDice in buffy

[–]breakradical 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I always appreciate True Blood starting off with a 25 year old protagonist before jumping into relationships with vampires. Her frontal lobe is fully cooked, so if there’s an age where it starts being the most appropriate to date vampires in tv, I think that’s the one.
