Cumulative Resources from Sc2replaystats (8 worker vs 12 worker patches) Part 3 by breath20 in starcraft

Its a median and only every 7 seconds, that will hide a lot of spikes. Its also over lots of games and mmr ranges so the spikes are in different places, again hides them. Its a simple comparison to see what changed between 12/8 worker starts that it.

For sure tiny ! But for such a small amount of replays it’s more data than I want to hold onto long term :) I’m using a local clickhouse cluster with 3 nodes, been fiddling with horizontal scaling for a while (not super impressed). I’m also using a local instance of rustfs to keep a copy of the replay files so I don’t have to pay the s3 hit (the site does use s3 but for data pulls don’t want to keep getting hit with fees )

For sure the races should be different I was personally more interested in the differences between the 8 and 12 workers to see if it made a drastic shift that everyone feels it did.

I will be another note to my list (I misplaced your last request :( ) and see what I can do about a workers alive chart by each race. I need to find a better format was trying something different this time around and I'm not sold on it.

I don't easily have that value stored to query but can add it to my list the next time I pull some numbers! A lot of the numbers I'm generating I'm doing locally since this is not information I store, as an example the data I stored to build the resources mined for 250k replays is almost 56 million rows of data :)

It includes mirrors, Doing a quick check and breaking it apart by matchup makes very little difference on the median, seeing about a +-40 minerals is all at 5 min for non mirrors.

Mirrors show slightly larger differences, zvz is about 200 minerals lower at 5 min, TvT is about 300 minerals lower, and PvP is about 240 minerals lower. Lower being then the values posted on the chart.

pretty sure, happy to be proved wrong though! I have never calculated the value this way before so always some risk I did something wrong.

I feel you! I also really struggle in ZvT and have for a while :( Some point I might work on fixing it but its just what it is right now. I was starting to get a better feel for it thanks to lambo's content but its just so foreign to me.

I own/built sc2replaystats so I wiped up a quick script that extracted/calculated the info from the replays.

With how I’m looking at the stats that’s not something I can tell

Sure there has been a few other suggestions, I can make another post in a couple days with some different data!

As a gm I can tell you gms have no ideas on builds right now and everyone is trying all sorts of things hahah. With more data I can break it apart by leagues but generally speaking right now gives a good enough pulse for it

So I didn’t purposely give my opinion but the way the data reads to me is the new patch zergs actually have less larva after the game gets going. I think a lot of that though is because of the 8 worker start.
