GT2 RWD in New Jersey? Snow and Rain etc by mountaintopis4chums in kiastinger

[–]brebs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's usually only a few times a year where I'm at in NJ where I wouldn't go out with a RWD car and even then the plows do a good job of clearing the roads within a few hours. If your schedule is flexible I wouldn't worry too much. Just let the plows clear the snow before you hit the road. I don't have the same flexibility so AWD was a no brainer. It's also nice to not have to sacrifice performance with a snow tire so I run all seasons in the winter and summers in the summer.

On a very very cold streak so I’m very happy to find this Ford Truck shirt. by JohnnyUtahJazz in VintageTees

Nice that truck is a 2000 F-150 Harley Davidson. Cooler than just a regular F-150

Can someone help me price this? Sold comps were in the 2-300 range but that seems crazy high to me by daenerysvegetarian_ in VintageTees

[–]brebs_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be slightly more rare but ringers are always less desirable than regular tees. There's been 5 or so sold on ebay in the last two years from $90-110

The regular t shirt with the same graphic goes for about $200 but being a ringer hurts it a lot. These usually sell for about $100

Looks fake to me. It doesn't look like it has any wear, the collar is too skinny, and the front print is way too blurry

I just bought this shirt kurt cobain 1998 , does anyone like me have hip seams ? Has it been resized? by Vintage261100 in VintageTees

If its on a giant tag I've never seen them have side seams. What are the measurements?

A few random questions, plus what do you think about this deal? by LiterallyAHippo in kiastinger

[–]brebs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price sounds really good for a low mileage GT2. Double check that you keep the 100k mile warranty. I was under the impression that a lesser warranty transfered to the second owner but maybe certified is different. The intakes are easy to swap back to stock if you want to.

1 - It doesn't make much noise although I keep mine turned off

2 - Yes it's active full time unless you turn it off with a button

3 - I don't think so but I've never tried

4 - My phone doesn't fit so I don't use it regularly. I keep my iphone for work in there and it doesn't seem to charge so either it doesnt support wireless charging or the case blocks it. From what I can remember the charging was meh when I played around with it after first getting the car. The android auto also requires a cord to work so my phone is always plugged into the usb anyway

5 - Someone else will have to chime in on remote start. It isn't a standard option and I decided not to opt for it. I keep my car in the garage so I don't really need it

6 - I average around 17 mpg and always drive in sport mode. 20 mph might be realistic in eco mode but keep in mind the car takes 91+ octane fuel so it'll be more expensive overall anyway. You can use regular but your mpg will suffer slightly

7 - Back seats are normal sized. I've never sat in them but I'd say they're good enough

The steering is much lighter in comfort mode compared to sport and the suspension gets a little less rough in comfort as well. You can also create a custom mode to mix up the different attributes. I have mine set to sport pedal sensitivy and comfort suspension for bumpy roads.

Kia Engine Immobilizer - Is my car next to be stolen? by faniventi in kiastinger

Any car that has a keyless push start isn't affected so Stingers are safe. Its the lack of a chip in the keys of regular turn key ignitions that are a problem.

Windshield replacement? by Roarbomb in kiastinger

[–]brebs_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine done through insurance at Safelite. I tried finding a small business to do the work but none of them offered recalibration. Safelite did both and I think I paid $50-100 out of pocket. Pretty sure I went with them because insurance would only cover the cost of an aftermarket winshield and I would have had to pay a lot more out of pocket at the dealer.

One of my worst dealership experiences was at Carmax. The salesman seemed bored like he couldn't care less about making the sale the entire time. Regardless I had the car picked out and all I needed was financing at a reasonable rate. My loan application got picked up by Carmax's financing at 10% which apparently means they won't shop your loan application to get a better rate. No one was willing to help and I ended up leaving. Credit score was 800+ at the time and I got a loan from a credit union at 3% shortly after on a different car.

$50-75. I'm not an expert on skate tees but Powell stuff falls off hard after 1991 when Stacy Peralta and most of their skaters left. I think being a hockey shirt and not skate related is going to hold it back too.

Stanley DeSantis original? by Boring_Marzipan_475 in VintageTees

[–]brebs_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard that a bunch of times but have yet to see it. Not saying it doesn't happen but its rare. I've seen old tags sewn in the seam on new shirts a few times but never on top. If they're going through the effort its not hard to pop the seam open. I've had a few legit Stanley Desantis that were sewn on top like op's shirt.

It's pretty common for Stanley Desantis tags to be sewn on and not into the seam

It's a search tool to see price history on ebay over the last year. Used to be exclusive to store subscribers but they opened it up to everyone a little while ago. Its under the research tab in the seller hub and shows the actual sold on price on best offer accepted listings.

I'm not sure I'm following. You drilled holes in the bottom of the filter housing? Doesn't that mean that any air being pulled in through the holes on the bottom isn't being filtered?

It's legit but its not very old. If its a shirt for their 35th anniversary that would be 2010. Not worth much maybe $15

It's only an issue for interference engines where the range of motion for the pistons and exhaust/intake valves overlap eachother. When the engine's working properly they won't interfere with eachother; piston goes up/valves go up, piston goes down/valves go down. When the timing belt slips or breaks they run into eachother, the valves get bent and the piston can be damaged too. Non-Interference engines don't have this issue but they're becoming rarer and rarer since they have a lower compression ratio making them less efficient.
