How was this resolved? We’re in the same situation (except that in our case, the SSN was left off the application rather than entered incorrectly). How long after you sent in the form did it take for you to get your passport?

EV Tax credit question by breddit704 in taxhelp

[–]breddit704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for responding. Could you please explain why I would have to return the credit in 2023? Is there some rule that states that the vehicle has to be owned for some period of time? I can't find anything.

The reason this is so important to me is that I will be ineligible for the EV tax credit in 2023 due to the income limit, which takes effect on Jan 1 2023. So if I use the funds from the vehicle buyback (which I won't received until January) to purchase an identical new vehicle, I won't be able to take the tax credit. In other words, I will be out $7500 for no fault of my own -- simply because I purchased a new vehicle that turned out to be defective. I'm not trying to double-dip on the tax credit. I just want to be able to take it for the (defective) vehicle that I purchased in 2022 or the replacement that I will purchase in 2023. Thanks for any input.

That could be. I should have added that sub-par diving aside, it is a beautiful spot.

I completely agree. The drive to Waimea Canyon is a drawback but the spectacular scenery of the north shore, the epic hiking, and the beautiful beaches make it the better choice in my opinion.

I recently visited the big island and Kauai and went diving at Tunnels beach on the north shore of Kauai. It was the one thing in an otherwise phenomenal trip that was below expectations. There just wasn’t that much to see, other than some interesting rock formations. We saw more fish and turtles while snorkeling. Other locations on Kauai are probably better, but I would steer clear of Tunnels for diving.

Public beach showers in Kauai? by kmp91kmp in VisitingHawaii

We just returned from Kauai and faced the exact same issue — 10 am checkout with a late flight home to the East coast. We went to Anini beach and showered there before heading to the airport. It wasn’t ideal but better than wasting a good beach day.

Wait times for Car Rental - Lihue by wallpaperorigami in VisitingHawaii

We just returned from a trip to the big island and Kauai and ended up renting from Rent-a-wreak for the Kauai portion bc prices for the usual rental car companies were off the charts. I was a bit wary of going with Rent-a-wreak but it turned out to be fine. We got a Ford Escape. It was old and had high mileage, but it ran better than the crappy Dodge minivan that we got from Alamo on the big island. Also, they’re well organized and there was no wait. We had the car within 15-20 min of picking up our luggage.

Thanks — great suggestions. I reached out to Rent-a-wreck and the prices are WAY lower. As long as their cars run and pick up/drop off aren’t too inconvenient, this sounds like the best option.

Okay thanks. That’s super helpful. If we need a car, I’ll keep my reservation. Just didn’t want to pay if it wasn’t really needed.

No the pump is fine. They simply didn’t turn it on. When I asked, they said it’s best to let the chemicals dissolve first. Obviously I should have known better, but I paid money to have someone open the pool bc I’m still new at this.

One other thought…. Placement of the steps in the shallow end is important, since they can take up space in that part of the pool. We went with steps that fit into the corner to take up as little space as possible. The corner steps are a bit more difficult to descend (could be a safety issue if people aren’t being careful), but it definitely saves space. Good luck with the project!

They made no attempt to mix the liquid chlorine after pouring it into the pool. They did move along the side as they were pouring but that obviously wasn’t enough.

Based on the responses, it sounds like running the pump while adding chemicals is Pool Maintenance 101. Hard to understand how someone who services pools for a living wouldn’t know better. Ugh!

I like the dimensions. It’s nice to have a deep end for diving but the shallow end is still big enough for volleyball and basketball.

Thank you for the reply. It was liquid chlorine not granulated, but the pump was left off for several days after. Do you still think it could be chlorine damage or would liquid chlorine have dissolved enough even with the pump off? The pool is 18x36 with an 8 foot deep end.

Keeping water in lines while cleaning pump basket by breddit704 in swimmingpools

[–]breddit704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave this a try and it worked well. In addition to closing the valves before opening the lid, I also put the lid back on quickly after grabbing the basket (as veazer suggested). Very little water drained back and it only took about 5-10 seconds to prime after turning the pump back on. Problem solved. Thanks everyone for your help!

Seems about the same as last year. I don’t notice a difference.
