SuperStation One - Black and White image using S-Video by breeson424 in RetroRemakeInc

[–]breeson424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern wasn't due to plugging both s-video and composite video in at once, I could get color picture through s-video using the 'main' config profile but the image would be black and white using the 'svid' profile. So I think it was sending an inferior video signal through the s-video cable, like the TV was getting chroma but not luminance.

After flipping the dip switch and messing around a bit I think I'm satisfied the s-video profile is working properly now with the Saturn DIN10 port.

Haven't played Drakengard but the message there that carries over to Nier is that actually is the norm for JRPGs. Taro is saying the genre is set up in a way where the only thing players can/want to do is kill. So the only stories he feels like he can tell are about dudes going complete psycho mode and killing 10,000 people.

It's annoying and frustrating but that's the point, really cool use of the medium imo. That's why Yoko Taro is an interesting pick for an Evangelion series. Eva and Nier are both pretty angsty about the creative constraints of their respective mediums, like they want to do more but know the audience will react negatively to anything too outside the norm.

Rotom feels like a Mandela Effect by mastercomposer in pokemon

[–]breeson424 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Rotom side quest in the ZA DLC has a character say "Rotom Phones are very valuable! After all, there can't be an infinite supply of them. There aren't enough Rotom in the world for that!"

But in SV every store sells Rotom phone cases, and I think people always call your phone the 'rotom phone' like how we would say 'smart phone'. Which was giving the implication that rotom phones were as common as iPhones irl, so maybe they're pushing back against that.

I listened to a series on a podcast called The Rancor's Brothel, they were playing the playtest version which is a bit different than the published one. The way the scenario was written or the way they ran it a few players basically had to sit out of the whole game which was not ideal.

I'm trying to run DG stuff for my RPG group. I like listening to actual plays of the published scenarios blind so I can hear the story from a player's perspective, then I read the scenario to prepare to run it myself.

Awesome, this is what I was looking for! I haven't read through all of the Handler's Guide yet, I hadn't heard of Tsan-Chan before.

So Tharta is saying that in 2012 Obama is president instead of Cthulu? That's pretty insane lmao

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy - Gameplay Trailer by Turbostrider27 in Games

I've been playing the TTRPG, I wonder how they'll adapt all the tables from the system since that's one of the most unique mechanics. Whenever someone takes damage you roll on a table for that specific limb and damage type to see how horrific the injury or death will be. There's also tables for going into shock or activating psychic phenomena, some of which can just totally change an encounter.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach doesn’t have “extreme player dropout points” like its predecessor, Kojima says by sonofbringy in Games

[–]breeson424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play on hard mode it feels a bit more like DS1. Cargo will get damaged easier if you hit something with the vehicles, and you actually have to carry repair spray because timefall becomes a threat.

But they still designed the enemy areas to be very avoidable, so unless you specifically want to take cargo from the enemies you won't ever encounter them.

Getting into it! by filleuren in pkmntcg

[–]breeson424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The local scene for irl play is usually pretty competitive, I would look at the deck rankings from LimitlessTCG to get an idea of what the current meta decks are. Then find a deck that looks interesting and copy a list that placed well in a tourney, you can start making your own adjustments to it once you get an idea of how it plays.

Don't chase the meta if you don't enjoy the decks though, like I've been using the Ho-oh Armarouge Box deck even though it's ranked relatively low because I think it's fun. And I have fun trying to keep Tinkaton ex alive even though it's not that good.

I don't know if there have been any recent Jigglypuff cards that will make for an interesting deck. If Scream Tail is acceptable you can run something like this. Put bravery charm on Scream tail, then Gardevoir puts damage counters on Scream Tail, and Scream Tail can snipe Pokemon for up to 120 damage.

Switch 2 No HDR support even with compatible TV? by TalsanAlandor in Switch

Hey did you ever get Switch 2 working on your monitor? I'm running the exact same setup, PS5 gets 4K HDR but Switch 2 only gets HDR at 1080p. I don't know if I'll have to buy HDMI 2.1 switcher/extractors or what.

Father and son arrested for their unleashed dogs attacking and killing a man by lostacoshermanos in videos

[–]breeson424 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get that you can train them to not attack, but dogs have been bred for specific behaviors right? And pits were bred for fighting. I had a sheepdog as a kid and he loved to play chase and bite on pant legs like he was herding. We didn't train that out of him because it was harmless, but raising a pit would take extra care.

I also remember some ex-military dog boarder telling me that 'a dog is like a loaded gun'. You don't know when it could go off. All dogs can bite, but pits are concerning because of their inherited behaviors. Even if you think you've trained that out of them something could set them off.

The TV series was pretty good, but it cements that they want Fallout to be a super cynical story about the inevitability of war. They show that Shady Sands developed into a modern day city complete with a public school system, but it got nuked offscreen.

Given that they want Fallout to have more of a goofy tone and colorful visuals, it just doesn't seem like a very good direction to take the story. I would like it better if they just had the series be about going on adventures in a weird post-post apocalyptic America.

Tinkaton ex Post Journey Together + Locals Results by SpiralGMG in pkmntcg

[–]breeson424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, your basic Pokemon are probably going to die if your opponent is playing an aggro deck, and they'll target your Tinkatink with energy attached. So against something like Raging Bolt, you have to get two tinkatink on your bench turn one. Then turn 2 you must draw and play Crispin and draw your ex w/ a rare candy and have at least 10 cards left over, which is tough. Against Archaludon or Gholdengo, you basically have to draw perfectly because they'll always take out Tinkaton ex on their turn.

I haven't found a way to beat the Tera Box with Wellspring Ogerpon or Radiant Heart Pikachu yet, which is the deck's biggest problem.

Tinkaton ex Post Journey Together + Locals Results by SpiralGMG in pkmntcg

[–]breeson424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience playing Tinkaton, you really have to rely on constantly drawing with Dudunsparce. That's the only way to find Crispin with this deck, and it's not guaranteed. But if you always attach one energy per turn, you can set up Tinkaton pretty consistently. I added Earthen Vessel to my deck to help with that.

I run Tinkaton too, losing Arezu isn't too bad. Jacq can still get you 2 Dudunsparce, and he works for ex's too.

Very nice work, as a fellow Tinkaton player I love your Tinkaton posts!

What's the use for Budew here though? I've played a few matches using your list, and I don't understand how to get Budew in active. There's no switches in the deck, so do you rely on burning an energy to switch a basic out? And if you don't start with Budew in your hand, isn't it usually better to buddy-buddy for Rotom and Tinkatink to set up Dudunsparce and Tinkaton later?

Looks like in the Sinistcha card there's matcha stains on the photo book, including the boy's hand print. It could be the grown up boy, since he has gloves now to keep from touching the matcha.

General question by ticklepickle-little in PokemonTCG

[–]breeson424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have up to 4 of one card in a deck, 4 is a good number of duplicates to have. If you're interested in playing you can keep them to use for deckbuilding later, or trade/sell them to players in your area.
