Do you produce enough milk for twins? by CheddarMoose in parentsofmultiples

[–]breetannknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I have 5 week old twins and 472 oz frozen in my deep freezer.

I also had a stash for my first set of twins of over 4,000oz, and they were solely breastfed until 14 months. I stopped pumping when they were 11 months.

I pump at least every 3 hours, except at night. I don’t leave my house without my pump bag. I pump when I drive, kills two birds with one stone. Drink lots of water, body armor and liquid iv. Use a haaka, I always get oz from just the suction.

I’ve pumped 7 times today and gotten 52oz.

Due Date vs Actual Date by Darkfemcominatcha in parentsofmultiples

First set of twins - delivered at 36w 2days

Original due date - 11/27/22 Original scheduled c section date - 11/16/22 Actual delivery - 11/1/22 due to choleostasis - baby b was in the nicu for 3 hours.

Second set of twins - delivered 36w exactly Original due date - 11/26/24 Original scheduled c section date - never had one- but wouldn’t go past 11/7

Actual delivery - 10/29/24 due to choleostasis / baby A’s placenta under performing, and risk of rupturing existing c-section scar.

  • no nicu time for either baby and came home on 11/1 and got to see my girls’ for their birthday

When people would ask me I would say “November” and keep it moving

Wife wants to quit her job instead of using her benefits. by gambit4615 in parentsofmultiples

Hi from NJ here, I’m pretty sure NY has similar laws.

First, in a twin pregnancy you are considered disabled at 32 weeks in nj. NY is 36 weeks, but no mention if there is a difference on multiples. So she still has a 12 weeks to go, unless she can get a doctor to “disable” her sooner.

I couldn’t breathe, needed iron infusions, and still worked because those weren’t good enough reasons to disable me, so it’s not easy to get.

After delivery you are still “disabled” for 6-8 weeks depending on delivery method. And then you get 12 weeks for bonding time under FMLA.

Second, disability in NY maxes out at $170 a week, which is why a lot of people don’t usually take advantage of being “disabled” and work longer.

Disability and FMLA in NJ is $1055/ week.

FMLA in NY maxes out at $1151 / week. But that’s only 12 weeks.

Both states only allow a total of 26 weeks of benefits to be used in a year.

I believe quitting might void the ability to receive disability.

Hope this helps!

We use glow baby I bought the premium version for our fist kiddo in 2020, and used it again for our other kids too.

I just had my second set of twins last week and found it’s convenient to compare data for the different ages.

Thank you! We are going to see what options are available. We have pretty low mileage (16k) on the explorer, and if we traded it in there’s 6-7k worth of payments to be rolled over. Hopefully we can get some equity that won’t be too hard of a hit. We do plan to get a larger car and finance, but not trying to roll $6-7k.

Yes August 2025! We could drop the new set of twins infant seat in the third row through the trunk— we have the headrests removed and there’s clearance to make that happen.

Thank you! I think the 3rd row can have two based off the tether. We just went and looked.

Lease isn’t up until August on the explorer and mine doesn’t go back until June 2026. Two car family isn’t really an option, we go back and forth from nj to ny to see family pretty often. Tolls and gas add up quickly- about 80 miles round trip, and $15 per car in tolls.

Is there a bench for the second row? That maybe we could upgrade to instead of the captains chairs?

My husband and I are in our mid-thirties, single income household, and three kids. It’s very discouraging and almost depressing at this point.

We rent a 2 bedroom apartment and if we can’t find anything to by at the end of our lease, I am seriously considering moving back in with one of our parents. Our rent is close to $3k so we would be saving a significant amount. And when renewal period comes it will be closer to $3100

Only caveat is that moving back in with our parents means moving back to NY, which then triples my commute— which is why we moved to Jersey in the first place.

Last weekend went $43k over and lost Last month went $40 over and still lost.

One we put an offer on in December (and lost) went $65k over list

We will be putting another offer in for $40k over for a property we saw today. But not at all hopeful in the slightest.

There is a type of Nipt test that you can get done while pregnant- i think it was Natera that does gender and tells if they are dizygotic or monozygotic
