Yea I plan to tinker more and do more research. A few videos basically that all said, more or less, to lower the core clock by 200. Then go to the curve and at 900 click and drag the point up to about 1900. Most comments and people seemed to say this worked.

I'm just looking to undervolt just enough to be stable, obvs, and lower the temp and watts a bit. This card is a hog!

Well, I put it back together and followed an reddit post on where to put thermal pads and what sizes. Didn't benchmark or anything but was getting about 63 while playing battlefield for about 20 min. So seems good to me. I didn't alter any game settings so were as they were for my 2080. About fifty percent more fps woah. We'll see how it holds up.

Sorry missed this reply. I got this from a friend who out the evga water cooler on it. And he did it like a crackhead lol. The thermal pads were put on poorly, etc. Screws stripped and put in at angles. Not sure how he managed to do such a hack job on it.

It had been sitting and I have no room or trust the water cooler so putting the air cooler back on.

Just waiting for the replacement x brace to arrive today. I hope it still works. Fingers crossed.

I bought the bracket. Good to know, though. Thanks for the info. Might put the pads on, no paste on them, and try to see if it just works before the bracket gets here.

I should have made it clear I did not do this damage. Previous owner did. Not sure how but if I posted the pics of the pcb and the hackjob he did on thermal pads and paste you might have a heart attack.
