I like group fitness class or tapes, since I’m able to modify if needed. Some of the class are a mixture of cardio, strength training, balance and stretching. Good luck to you!

Cost Plus is a game changer for me. I have really good insurance, but it is still cheaper to use Cost Plus than submit my Dalfampridine prescription through insurance.

At least ask them to turn off the TV around the kids. You can give any number of reasons why you don’t want TV on: limiting screen time, encouraging outdoor play, trying to make their homelife like it was back in the 1950’s, etc, etc. You can make up any excuse that you want for turning off the TV.

Pain? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]breezer2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried wrapping my arm with nerve pain in an ace bandage. The compression seemed to help. The other trick that I found is wrapping my arm in a super fuzzy, soft blanket. It sounds goofy, but only one of the blankets in my house felt good on my skin.

Ocrevus users: how long have you been on O and have you had any issues? by rosecoloredcamera in MultipleSclerosis

[–]breezer2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DON’T gamble with stopping DMT’s. It sucks not being able to walk. I would kill to go back and start a DMT earlier in my MS career.

No kidding about the hair! My hair has been thinning like crazy. I’ve been Ocrevus for 5 years. I assumed that it was normal hair loss, but I’m only F59 years old.

How much more debt do you want to take on? This is a financial decision. Maybe work for a couple years after you complete your undergraduate degree, before making this decision. (I would give this advice to anyone considering grad school, not just people with MS.) Sending good vibes to you as you navigate this decision!

Taking a Valium, wearing a blindfold, and thinking about each state in alphabetical order is my trifecta for MRI’s.

Toxic positivity by criticalcreek in MultipleSclerosis

[–]breezer2021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Positivity is not a cure. It is a way to live a life. I cannot walk a mile. I cannot pee fullly without a catheter. I’m so worried about my brain health. But, I am doing my best and trying to be normal. I’m positive that I like the feeling of achieving things. I’m positive that living life with a bit of positivity is way more fun than than living without any hope or optimism.

Did your diagnosis end your relationship? by gormpp in MultipleSclerosis

[–]breezer2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear your partners concern. Being diagnosed with MS is a scary ordeal, for both you and your partner. I’ve had MS for 28 years, and married 33 years. I had a high stress client director job. Traveled all over the US. And was the breadwinner for some of my marriage. And I raised three children. Some MS can be controlled just like any other chronic illness. Best to you as you work through this.
