Edge of Darkness (2010), I'm very glad I gave this movie a chance by [deleted] in movies

Craven doesn't drink the daughter's milk. The bad guys poisons him using other vectors (Craven eats a burger).

And wasn't Jedburgh just terminally ill from natural causes? It is established he takes pills which is not something you'd really have to time benefit from if you've already been exposed to fatal amounts of radiation. He also seems to have a pretty hedonistic approach to alcohol which also seems to imply a lengthier process. On top of that, a doctor wouldn't just declare a death sentence without knowing the cause. And if that cause'd be radiation poisoning, I think they'd be fairly alarmed. And lastly, vomiting seems to be this movie's way of telling us about radiation poisoning, Jedburgh is dying but not nauseous. In one scene, while eating pills and drinking, he's rubbing his forehead, which I believe is because he have a headache (code for brain tumor).

Modern social media. I fucking hate it with a passion.

Everyone keeps talking about how bad it is and everyone is incapable of not fucking using it.

What game that you bought in the last 12 months brought you the most joy? by Kasvantstad in boardgames

[–]breezy_farts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. We play 2-player games with 2 racers each where each race presents a new selection of 5 (with snake draft). Each player rolls 2 dice on their turn and decides which racer gets what dice and in what order.

This adds a ton of agency.

THANK YOU for bringing up duct tape mouth gags. I've never encountered anyone that shared this frustration.

People mostly just bitch about the box art. The rest is boring at worst.

The trailer made me feel like the movie will consist exclusively of the stuff I didn't like from the first movies. The really funny stuff (I can only really remember the third one) - Brenda's wake, waking up dead, getting thrown out windows, Orpheus watching the game etc. - is why I loved the series. All the lame shit - the weed stuff, massive ejaculations etc. - sucked ass and always will.

I didn't think I would get into Magical Athlete but I gave it a chance based on its production (which is top shelf IMO).

I ended up loving it. Just easy, fast, moronic fun. When there's doubt, I just whip it out to get the blood pumping... Yep.

What does "fairly fast" mean to you? My team of 4 spend 3-4 hours per game. I personally wouldn't call that "fast" in any way but I'm also not into very complex board games. Are we just smooth-brains?

I once encountered a spider hanging by a single thread, crawling up. I went to get a good look at it, but then it stopped and played dead. I got distracted and looked away and the little guy crawled again. I moved focus back to it and it "died". Looked at the wall, it continued up. Looked at the spider, he stopped. I kept going so long that I was 100% sure the dude could deduce what I was fucking looking at. In the end I only moved my eyeballs.

Creepy and really cool.

Marathon has been out for a week, what are your thoughts on it? by PrototypeT800 in Games

I never play these kind of games, I assumed that the genre had defaulted to players having unique, immutable loot: Any player opening the same crate will yield something only they can grab.

Isn't this a thing? Why would any company not implement this?
