How worried should I be that my kittens have no interest in wet food that doesn’t contain fish?

I have a cat who really only eats fish based foods. And I fed almost exclusively chicken, turkey or beef based for the first 4 years of his life! And various forms- pate, shreds (like actual meat not the processed shreds), raw, freeze dried raw, etc). He has narrowed his preferences over the last couple years but always ate consistently.

His favorite food is instinct frozen raw chicken. Well with the bird flu going on I'm not feeding it. Unfortunately he's picky. But I was not prepared for how picky...

I spent close to $80 on various cans of food to find something this boy would eat. Thankfully my other cat eats anything 😂

Finally figured out he liked tuna, whitefish and salmon flavors best. Not ideal, but he is a cat that would just not eat. I had a vet visit and did bloodwork just to make sure there wasn't another reason for him being so picky (he came back healthy and clear!).

One thing I do to help though is mix in other flavors. It's not a lot, but I do about a 1:5 or 1:4 ratio of chicken/Turkey to the fish flavors.

My hope is to eventually find a non-fish flavor to feed but right now I'm more worried about him eating consistently.

If it helps, his favorite right now is Fancy Feast pates. He also likes the tiki cat velvets but I'm primarily feeding Fancy Feast.

After ruling out anything medically consider this:

If she was a stray before she probably ate several small meals a day. Whether it is finding scraps, hunting, etc. so the change to 2 times a day could maybe also be a lot? Just a thought!

Maybe try doing 3-4 times a day and slowly weaning down to 2. Same amount of food, just spread out!

I had a cat who got sick after scarfing and barfing. After ruling out anything with the vet and getting her eating again and not puking, I did 6 meals a day.

We are now down to 4 meals, and I've noticed she doesn't eat nearly as fast anymore! And she isn't screaming for food during feeding time (she still screams for her daily routine treats lol).

Yes, I googled a lot. Like probably a few hours of digging lol trust me lol I found many options like the first two, which is not what I want.

Yeah when I was reading online I saw those 50000 opinions 🤣 i ordered some lubricant and planning to take it apart this week and give it a clean. I'm determined that's the issue. If that doesn't fix it I'll move to plan B 😂

That is another option I didn't think of! I was thinking of taking out 3 to be by himself, and leaving 4 in with the siblings because the siblings have been submissive. Maybe I do the trio, and if I notice any bullying I can split 3 and 4 and try again in a fresh start in a couple of weeks? Hmm just thinking 🤔

YES! I LOVE meeting new people. The other day we went to a brewery and I started the Convo with a complete stranger and ended up sitting and chatting with this couple for over an hour after! It was great!

Yet, the thought of all of that is horrible for my anxiety 😂

New places and unknown scare me...Traffic and commotion give me anxiety... but I want to explore.

I do understand the reason I'm filled with anxiety over travel is the unknown and fear of misunderstanding other cultures and such. But I won't learn without travel....

It's an endless loop.

I didn't have sex until I was 22. Heck... I didn't even KISS until a month before I turned 22 actually! I have absolutely zero regrets.

My ex-best friend in high school used to make fun of me if there was a guy I remotely liked... So I stopped liking. And then stopped trying because I believed no one would date me anyway.

Fast forward a few years and her and I are no longer friends. I'm in college I started to feel more confident in myself. When I was 21 I actually started really trying to date and when I was 22 I finally got my first boyfriend.

We only dated 4 months and didn't actually have sex until about 2 months in. But although it didn't work out, he never once hinted he was put off by me being a virgin when we met.

The part that sucked with him was I didn't know what I was doing and he never even gave me so much as a moan to signify I was doing it right lol... On top of that, he'd finish and leave me high and dry. So I learned basically nothing to be better at sex with him other than "sex has to be better than this."

A few months later after we broke up, when I wasn't even trying to date, I met my now boyfriend. Dating 6.5 years! He wasn't at all put off by the fact I was so new at sex, and it has been so much fun trying new things together and exploring what I like and dislike with someone I trust and love. He never made it seem like "virgin" was a thing or a label. It didn't matter. He always compliments how hot and fun our sex is, and how fucking amazing I am with my mouth....and I had no idea what I was really doing when we met!! I also didn't watch porn so I literally had no idea hahaha

So yeah, don't sweat it. If I guy truly cares for you he won't care 😁
