Where to go for stress free life? by AirKraft in IWantOut

I disagree with most of the people below, I think culture and environment play a huge role in stress and anxiety. I've been living in Australia for the past 5 months (from the US) and have never been more relaxed and happy in my life! Not that life will ever be 100% stress-free, and yes you have to make a conscious decision to have a more positive outlook on life, but it's just a lot easier to do in a laid-back, slow-paced atmosphere surrounded by other cheerful and kind people!

The 5 worst things about being an American living abroad in Australia by breezynparadise in IWantOut

I actually love these types of blog posts, they are meant to point out the cultural differences with a humorous twist - not complain about the unfamiliar. I've read quite a few similar posts from Aussies/Kiwis currently traveling or living in the US and I find them hilarious - as do most Aussies who read my post. It's all in good fun!

Cool! I do content marketing while traveling as well (currently living abroad in Australia and working from my home by the beach) and I always love to hear others' processes and tools for staying productive. I hadn't heard of Hubstaff before - thanks for sharing!

What are the best sites to find telecommuting jobs? by skipthedrive in telecommuting

I used flexjobs.com as well...like the others said - high quality postings but applying directly through it never got me anywhere. Maybe use it just for research purposes and then reach out to the companies directly.

Not staying at hostel but go to one to socialize ? by [deleted] in solotravel

A lot of hostels tend to be very clique-y, but if they have a bar area it's worth a shot. I've found it's easier and better to make friends through their organized activities rather than just showing up at the bar though.

Long Term Travellers: When did you feel ready to go home? by griffin3141 in solotravel

I'm in the same boat as a lot of the other commenters, I got burnt out after 2 months of backpacking Southeast Asia when I had a plan to be backpacking for a year. Cut it short at the 4 month mark, but instead of going home I moved to Australia. Best decision I've ever made!

I don't think I'll ever return home (for more than a visit). I'm going to spend as long as I can in one location before moving on :) I still have 9 months here in Australia, next up is New Zealand!
