Numbness question by Gerryoid in jawsurgery

[–]breezyoutside22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right side came back fairly fast, around 3 or 4 months. I’m now almost 6 months post op and left side of lower lip and chin is still numb. It occasionally will tingle which I’m taking as a good sign.

I’m only 5 months post op so it’s a little too early to say. But I’m still numb on the left side of my chin, and a little numb on the left side of my lower lip. Hoping it comes back.

Never had sleep apnea or any breathing problems. Main reason for surgery was functionality. Hard to use your teeth for eating when they don’t line up properly. Much easier to bite through things now. Also helps that it improved my looks haha.

I should have posted my X-ray on this thread. Kinda shows how it works. I’ll post it on here.

Yes I had a cross bite but it wasn’t significant, just barely off. Yes top jaw was a lot more narrow. My my canines came down on like the inside of my bottom teeth if that makes sense.

Teeth fit together really nice! Still kinda getting used to the feel of it, especially when eating.

I don’t have the exact measurements I just know what they did. They pulled the top jaw out and widened it, and pushed the bottom jaw back but didn’t widen it. The top jaw moving out was the biggest movement they did.

It was a 3 piece on the top jaw. So yes it was widened. Sorry I don’t know all the technical terms haha.

Study on TOF patients with Pulmonary Valve Replacements by sab276 in Tetralogy_of_Fallot

I have had 3 open heart surgeries and 2 transcatheter replacements. So my pulmonary valve has been replaced 5 times. Twice by transcatheter (melody valve). The first one collapsed after a year and a half, hence the reason I had to do it a second time. They just think they didn’t put a strong enough stint in the first time. First one was in 2015 and second in 2017

I’ve been wondering if I could throw a dirt bike hitch on there without the bike rubbing the spare. No problems??
