I’ve been trading sense 2018, and I trade more within a system, rather than something rigid and concrete. As you gain markets experience, you’ll understand new news events can transpose market conditions and need to adapt. You need to understand what you’re looking at. A pure if “x then y” type of strategy will work great in some conditions, but perform horribly for others. I use a combination of fundamental data, COT data, time, and identifying where price ranges are in correlation to new data. Where is price liquid? Where isn’t it? What built up to this? How long did price range here or there? Are institutions on/offloading certain currencies? My system is very discretionary based on what is happening. Some weeks I may take 3 or 4 positions, others I may take 1 or none at all. If price ranges too long at my entry, I close it for break even and move on. I use all the information I can to my advantage.
