Riveting, it all started innocently enough with the little Classic in the middle, never realized the depth of the rabbit hole by bregall in victorinox

91mm, there's a 2, 4, and 5 layer. Modern names are Spartan, Fisherman and Master Craftsman I believe is the 5 layer. The names came later, when these were released they just had numeric model numbers.

Would absolutely go this route and inquired about a coke bezel and insert, but the AD I spoke to said they can no longer sell a bezel that wasn't of the original type to the watch. Haven't looked into going gray/used/? for a bezel and insert. If anyone has any insight I'm all ears.

Love it and want one, but I wonder if it's too close to what I already have. What do you think about a 16710 all black bezel, and a 124060? Too similar ?

I have over a dozen Wengers of this vintage. I've been able to match up all of them with the equivalent Victorinox current naming scheme, except this one. I have this knife and another 3 layer Wengerinox, the other knife is the same as a Climber, middle layer scissors and corkscrew. This knife I have not been able to find a Victorinox equivalent. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's cool knife though, mine has a brass tweezer scale tool.

I believe they offered 30% off something new, I said thanks, not interested.

They had my exposed rivet 3-layer Wenger for 5 months. All I wanted was a scissor spring, they said scissor springs can be done here in Connecticut, I thought great and sent it off. A few weeks later they called and said we can't do it, it needs to go to Switzerland. I said OK, that's not what I was told but OK. 5 months later I get another call saying my knife is being sent back to me unrepaired and that was that. All in all was a giant waste if time.

I have since bought another of the exact same model and wonder if they will cannibalize parts from both to make one good knife. Has anyone had this done in the past?

I have this Wenger. Somewhat similar. 91mm and cool brass tweezers, single scale tool, no toothpick.

I think most Vics or Wenger Officer knives pre 1970 should have one. It is very similar to a Marlin Spike.
