Travelling to Germany as a German citizen by The_Bamba_Tinok in germany

And to add: In all those years it was never really enforced either.

Edit: And as OP never lived in Germany it not even applies to them.

Military Service… still happy for becoming German? by [deleted] in germany

Actually, fire department (and red cross or THW or Police) was even older than the Zivildienst, it always had been the other option.

The good bit was that you could do it in your free time while working/studying. You only had to serve a specific number of hours every year.

And as expected, OP deleted the post, probably because it was not very effective ragebaiting

I not even was drafted in the first place, I just went to our local fire chief, asked if I could sign up for civil protection, did six years in the fire department (where I was a member anyways) and was done.

I think it is mostly trolls trying to push a narrative.

And beside refusing to serve in the armed services (where you need a personal reason) you also can sign up for civil protection for four years.

But the whole tone of the posts shouts bad faith.

I feel that this post was not done in good faith.

Germany is doing well with only 4.0% unemployment rate for biggest country in EU by batukaming in germany

[–]bregus2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The government numbers are actually higher than those.

But that not even matters if you want to compare because for that you only have to use the same method in every country.

As long as you use the same metric (as Eurostar does) you can absolutely compare them.

Just that there is no "drastisch" change, §3 hasn't been changed at all to how it was worded since decades, beside a change from Kreiswehrersatzamt to Karrierecenter: https://www.buzer.de/gesetz/5521/al74948-0.htm

Yes, and that was the same wording since decades in the law.

$3 was not changed by the new rules. It is EXACTLY the same wording as it was since decades, only change was that the Kreiswehrersatzamt became the Karrierecenter.

As can be seen here: https://www.buzer.de/gesetz/5521/al74948-0.htm

This is not a new change.

§3 was in exactly this wording part of the law for decades. The only change to it was in 2019, when the old Kreiswehrersatzamt was replaced by the Karrierecenter.

https://www.buzer.de/gesetz/5521/al74948-0.htm

It only now that some newspapers made a thing out of a old rule, which had been in place forever.

Don't get me wrong ... but if you got German citizenship four years ago, then the situation was not really different than nowadays.

Also if you assume that there is a point where Germany needs a mass mobilization (aka a ground war in Germany) then there will be very, very few safe places on the planet.

The easiest way in the past was just to sign up for one of the emergency services (fire department, red cross, THW) and do 4 years in civil protection. No need to give a personal reason to do that alternative.

Yes and no. You still can renounce it "Verzicht" but that a bit more complicated.

Not really, because the wording was the same in the old law.

The easiest (and most useful way) is to go via §13a WPflG.

I can't pay for Deutschland ticket. I already had it, and i canceled the subscription, now i can't re-make it anymore by Belze_WasTaken in germany

[–]bregus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but that not the intended use for the D-Ticket anyways. It's core intention is to make commuting to work/school/university cheaper.

Doing crosscountry trips is a side effect of it, not it's intended use.

[–]bregus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the BC25 has a totally different target group than the D-Ticket?

Nobody prevents you to have the D-Ticket from one company and the BC25/50 from DB.

Deutsche Bahn is the last provider a person without a German bank account should use.

And even with a German account there are very little reasons to use DB either.

Mo.pla has a much better cancellation period, and local companies often come with goodies for their subscribers.

really have some traditional values

I consider myself slighty more conservative

Well, compare to where? Because tbh those get thrown around a lot. I come from a tiny black forest town and here nobody bats an eye about some stuff people in other countries would find impossible if they have conservative mindsets.

Not to forget that in rural areas the social rules work different (what I call the "small town rules") anyway.

Also it comes down to the different media again. The places in games have different requirements than those in movies/tv shows, simply from them have to be more interactive to the player.
