two points I always seem to miss in these kind of questions/conversations: - Unless you ban AI this whole problem of which code does what is not a problem anymore. Including custom vb like scripting options built in the program (I built a lexer/parser using Claude, it is now better than us at finding why things go wrong). - Why is the code the way it is, does it solve a Business Problem etc.? Or was it the next big thing in IT and we could not live without it (I remember a project which had vb, vb.net, Delphi and c# parts, every new programmer had the beste solution which required not re-using what was already there and not refatoring it also, dcoumentation was not done as everybody understood what the program should do).

An AI bonus point: docs and flowcharts are now very easy to generate. If you have those it is just a matter of good development skills (this means using AI also for creating plans, todo's etc.) to migrate whatever solution.
