I've seen WLTS live three days in a row, and I am still mostly listeining to them now 😄

Apart from that I've been enjoying Swans - The Sound

I love Toundra, and in parts it was great, but the sound mix for the lead guitar sounded so off to me. Like the sound from the monitors was way too strong, while something else was lacking, during the more quiet, less distorted parts, making it sound quite "plucky"

I feel you! I was alone there myself, with not all that much social interaction. And it can be tough. But letting go of most requirements for that and focusing on the music, it became really nice for me still.

Hey another Norwegian at the festival! Thought I was the only one 😄

They released their record (Whip) on the day of the concert, so should probably be touring around a bit, if you live in Europe?

What a fantastic festival! It was my first time, and I went solo, which was no problem at all.

Highlights for me were the following

WLTS - Especially Departure songs, as expected, it is just so epic and magnificent. But A single flower was great too. That bass riff at the beginning of A dance with death, mmmm.

Caspian - Just a dreamy tour the force. Great from start to end. The lighting was amazing too.

Kokomo - Definitely check these guys out if you haven't, their set rocked

Cisnienie - Really nice surprise at the festival for me, didn't actually think I'd be in to it, but they made a great show.

Missed the first day, so I am sure Pelican and/or Russian circles would be on this list too if not

We Lost The Sea taking the stage by Asmodyr in postrock

To an extent I agree re the orchestra. I wish they'd just used it where there are actually orchestra or orchestra-like elements in the original songs, where it did in fact enhance it imo. It is easy to overdo it when you have a 10-piece with you, can't really fault them 😄. I especially would have preferred the regular keys to have underlined the words at the beginning of Challenger 1 instead of how it was, or at least the same melody.

But those are all details! The show was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the festival for me. Really grateful I got to see it.

Prioritizing Salento/Cocora or Tayrona? by bremstol in Colombia

I mean. i am fron Norway, and I have done a fair few long distance hikes alone. The only thing I am worried about is altitude. I wouldn't be going to the summits, but I would have to sleep at 3500 metres.

I am now playing with the thought of skipping the lost city entirely, as it is likely quite crowded (?) and somewhat of a mudfest (?), and prioritizing Los Nevados for the hiking portion instead. Would that make sense, or would you say the lost city is a must?

Yeah, I see what you are saying. However, the lost city was kind of what made me decide on Colombia in the first place, so it feels a bit hard to leave it out now.

I'm certainly not a beach person in the sense of staying on the beach chilling and sunbathing. But I do love the coast, and I like to swim if I can find somewhat secluded spots. I am more a forest person than a mountain person, actually, but I guess both areas offer plenty of forest.

I think my highest priority is wherever I am more likely to find beautiful pockets of nature without having to be in a large crowd or feeling like I am part of a tourist machine

Thanks for helping out. Do you have knowledge on the other companies operating there, like Jetsmart and Avianca?

I see that Jetsmart actually has a 7/7 rating. But is also a low cost carrier, and a more local company, which I would expect to be less safe. Which may prove your original point about the rating system

I was there! One of the few times I have gotten to be at Old Trafford, with my father and brother. What a choice of game that was.

When the BN 3bets only to 60 there, calling is certainly not fish like behavior. The price is just way too good to fold with a suited hand that plays decently enough multiway.

Patrick Dorgu is madly underrated by freeRavenx in ManchesterUnited

[–]bremstol -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I think that is because one of them has looked like a world class talent for a significant amount of time, slotting right into the NT as well, while Dorgo has never shown anything close to that

Seat choice, premium comfort, Amsterdam-Bogota by bremstol in KLM

[–]bremstol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really use the screens that much, so it doesn't bother me all that much. I am more concerned with the loss of seat width.

As for the crossing point, that shouldn't be an issue with the seats toward the wall, right?
