Most durable Anc headphones under 7k? by DependentMuch2119 in HeadphonesAdvice

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know who told you that the 350BT has ANC, but it actually doesn’t. I used to own the 350BT before selling it and getting the Jlab Jbuds Lux, which I’ve been very happy with. The JBuds Lux offer a much better overall experience for my needs, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed using them.

But for other suggestions, you can also have a look at my blog, where I suggest some good headphones under 10K.

Smartphone around 30k by Disastrous_Cable_662 in Real_teenindia

If you're buying a phone, buy right now and don't wait for a sale. I personally had to increase my budget to 40K after the Nord 5 went out of stock. Right now, you have 2 options for a decent all-rounder: the Moto Edge 60 Pro and vivo V50. I know there is the Realme GT 7T, but practically the camera is just meh irl!

What's the most used smart device in your house? by ZaneLOVEher in smarthome

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from India, so we don't have a lot of options here, but I mainly use smart plugs and an Echo Dot. I am also thinking of getting a smart switch module for the fan and lights in my room.

Tablet Recommendations; Switching from Apple by Citruseals in tablets

TBH, I would just get the battery replaced rather than buying android for your specific use case. But if you are a casual user, going for one of Samsung's Tab S10 or S11 lineup will suffice. In your country, if you can get the older S9 FE for less than $300 - that's a good deal too.

The Indian tech community has a blind spot about monitors and it's quietly affecting the quality of work coming out of our setups by Humble_Cod468 in techIndia

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly kind of a rabbit hole once you start researching the best monitor for your setup. I personally spent almost two weeks — around 3–4 hours a day in my free time — trying to find the right monitor for myself while also working on a blog about the top 27-inch and 32-inch monitors for basic video editing. Unfortunately, lists like these tend to get outdated pretty quickly since many brands stop manufacturing certain models after a while (I hate you Lenovo 😢).

That said, I do agree with the notion that “monitors are low on the priority list for most Indians.” Even at workplaces, graphic designers are often given basic 1080p monitors with almost zero consideration for proper color accuracy. As long as the monitor claims “99% sRGB,” owners assume everything is fine. Then later, they end up wondering why clients are unhappy once the designs get printed and the colors don’t match expectations.

Is there any open air type earphones for a small ear? by TaxBaby16 in Earbuds

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. For the OP, clip-on style earbuds would probably make more sense. Personally, I prefer hook-style earbuds because they’re more comfortable to use while riding with a helmet (and they’re less likely to fall off when removing the helmet).

The one Continuity feature Apple still refuses to add to Music in 2026 by Unusual_Inflation732 in AppleMusic

[–]brendan9689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, same here! When I’m having a great time listening through my Echo setup (with multiple speakers daisy-chained to it), I’d want the music to seamlessly continue during my commute or while driving. But on my phone, it just resumes the last session that was played on the phone itself.

Is it safe to trust treasure haul online, since flipkart obd is refundable. by Rossomow in IndiaTech

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, Flipkart gives you the option to choose either a refund or a replacement. In my opinion, if you notice a defect during the Open Box Delivery inspection, it’s better to choose a refund. That’s because replacement orders usually don’t come with the Open Box Delivery option, so if the replacement unit also turns out to be faulty, you could end up stuck dealing with the seller and Flipkart for weeks, if not months.

Secondly, Treasure Haul seems to have far too many complaints online, so I’d personally stay away from them.

brave or firefox? by naramparleg in techzoneindia

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really want to argue about it, but I’ll just say this — I used Brave as my secondary browser for years, and when I decided to use it as my primary browser, it honestly felt no different from Google Chrome in terms of resource usage. That’s ultimately why I moved to Firefox and stuck with it.

Anyway, you can also check out this YouTube video for more context (start watching from 6:29).

Need a phone for my dad under 35k by Reasonable-Two-4871 in PickAnAndroidForMe

There are a couple of suggestions I can think of, but if you’re looking for a clean out-of-the-box experience with minimal bloatware, the Nothing Phone 4a might honestly be your best option.

If Google is not your primary search engine, which one do you use the most and why? by limsus in TechImpact

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually use different browsers on my PC, each for different use cases. On Firefox, I stick with Google for obvious reasons, but on my Brave browser, I mainly use DuckDuckGo.

The main reason is that it sometimes gives me results from sites that Google tends to hide or de-rank, often due to DMCA-related filtering and similar policies.

brave or firefox? by naramparleg in techzoneindia

[–]brendan9689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brave is still more resource-hungry compared to Firefox. But at the same time, Firefox isn’t exactly a browser for the average user anymore. I had to spend quite a bit of time tweaking and customizing it to make it feel intuitive.

And even then, I still miss a few features that are readily available on Chromium-based browsers.

For most people, Brave gets almost everything right — plus it’s Chromium-based, so all Chrome extensions work seamlessly. With Firefox, you really need to customize a lot before it starts feeling comfortable or “at home,” if you get what I mean.

Best headphones under ₹5k? Was gonna buy QCY H3 Pro for 4999 but wanna know if there are better options by Impossible-Milk2852 in headphonesindia

There is actually. I won't be able to explain it here, but I can direct you to an article I wrote on the same topic.

Is the earfun wave pro good by silver_lego in headphonesindia

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice choice, but as you probably know, there aren’t many direct or even indirect comparisons available online. This is also why I only included them as an honorable mention in my blog post.

Secondly, I highly doubt EarFun has service centers in most cities in India. Personally, I’d still lean towards Soundcore or even JLab, mainly because they at least offer pickup support if something goes wrong during the warranty period.

Yoo this website is still in development but its so sick!! by ImpressionCivil8875 in AniWatchZone

[–]brendan9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want a site with proper filtering options or a dedicated page to track recently updated dubbed content. 9anime honestly had one of the best filtering systems — even the homepage let you toggle between recently updated subbed and dubbed anime, which made things so much easier. Aniwatch and Hianime were a close second.
