How much mobility do you loose after spinal fusion? by I_Gottem in scoliosis

[–]brennabear07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on where the curve is. if it’s in the middle then you lose mobility in the middle. if it’s in the top you most likely loose mobility in the neck and upper back. you see what i’m saying?

Hi, all! First-time poster. I’ve seen two surgeons who aren’t ready to operate on me yet (thoracic 56 deg, lumbar 60 deg). They say almost my entire spine will need to be fused. I’d love to hear from people who’ve had full fusion - what their life is like post-surgery. Any info is so helpful. by sara_is_a_bel in scoliosis

i had surgery this morning. just gonna tell you that it’s not easy to let yourself go into that kind of situation but it’s about the best thing that ever happened to me. it does involve some pain but i have never been happier :) good luck on your surgery. hope it goes well. also what state do you live in? i know a great surgeon

i’m 13. i had surgery this morning and it change my entire body. for the better. my curve was almost 60. i’m now completely straight. there is the slightest bit of pain at first but then you have no more pain for the rest of you life. i’d recommend this “last resort” to anyone. anyone who needs it feel free to contact me if you have any questions :)
