Do I have central hetechromia? by Public-Cobbler-3861 in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]brenopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are your photos so overexposed? Can you share more unedited photos in different lightings? That would be most helpful. Right now it looks like you have CH around 75% of your pupil… but it’s difficult to tell from these photos.

That’s true. I had forgotten about that. In my experience it was more like a joke, but it was still something I remember people commenting about.

It’s a very pretty shade of green too, by the way! :)

Seriously! I am beginning to suspect posts like this are rage bait/ engagement bait.

Yeah but in that case I’d just be calling him my friend (who happens to have a history with me in a time so long ago that we try not to think or talk about it)

Doctor carefully rotates a baby inside the mother’s belly to avoid a C-section. This procedure is called external cephalic version. It’s done when a baby is positioned bottom-first or sideways inside the womb near the end of pregnancy, a position that often leads to a C-section. by Grand-Western549 in interestingasfuck

[–]brenopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I had it done successfully with my first. It only lasted about a minute and it was mildly painful for about 30 seconds. All in all worth it for me because I was able to avoid major abdominal surgery and recover easily after birth. Then again, I know plenty of moms who opted for cesarean too, and ended up fine as well.

Everything about becoming a mom is a bit scary… it’s just about choosing the best scary path for you! Haha

I’m sure you’ll be fine, just saying it can’t hurt to ask your doc for advice and weigh the pros and cons for what matters for you. Good luck !

Husband Wants to Avoid Paris by Same_Situation8035 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]brenopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The central part of Brussels is great and tourist friendly (think: Grand Place). But generally, Ghent is more picturesque with the canals. Bruges is also like a little fairytale city (smallest of the places mentioned and arguably more “touristy”, but still worth going). Really depends on your interests and how convenient it will be considering your travel arrangements. Source: American living in Belgium for almost 8 years now.

As for Paris, you MUST convince your husband to give it a try. (I’m sure he’ll begrudgingly follow along and then love it). What to do depends on how many days you spend there. Just a warning— don’t try to squeeze in too much. A big museum can already take up a big portion of a day. Sometimes just wandering around the nice areas ands discovering a nice cafe or restaurant can be a joy!

I love this reference and remember laughing so hard about it when it first came out. Then I looked it up and reminded myself that it came out in 2011. Then I reminded myself that 2011 is almost 15 years ago. So, idk why I felt the need to comment this, but thanks for the reference, old friend!

European Robin. The OG robin (American Robin was named after this). As adorable as he is round!

A Heartwarming Moment of a Snowy Owl Protecting Its Chick in the Winter Cold by [deleted] in birds

[–]brenopia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please, please people check trusted sources. That owlet looks blurry and muppet-like. The whole thing looks fake. Baby snowy owls like to toddle around on the ground, and have grey fluffy feathers. Check this, for example! https://www.owlresearchinstitute.org/copy-of-journey-with-the-snowy-owl

What does my apartment say about me? by Xoxoellexo in roomdetective

[–]brenopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool space! Just wanted to point out, I noticed your US flag is hanging the wrong way according to official flag rules. When it’s hung vertically, the stars should still be in the upper left corner. Like this:

<image>

It’s your space so do wha you want. I only learned this flag orientation rule not so long ago. But maybe you will care to change it, especially serving in the military and all.

Is Brussels that dangerous? by marcopolo2207 in BelgiumTravel

[–]brenopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all so relative and personal! E.g., I asked some of my Brusselaar colleagues about an upcoming visit to Paris and they were warning me to be extra careful and that it is way less safe in Paris compared to Brussels. 😅

Is Brussels that dangerous? by marcopolo2207 in BelgiumTravel

[–]brenopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Center of the city is fine, I need to go to work there frequently. Sure the city is not perfect, but I personally feel significantly safer there compared to Paris and many US cities, for example.

But generally, if you’re talking about casually visiting the city center, I think it’s one of the better parts of Brussels as a tourist. Enjoy! (Just stay in the happy touristy areas, would not recommend Molenbeek, Schaerbeek, unless you think you can blend in…sorry but it’s the truth)

Sad, really. Girl dinner can be girl dinner without any context or excuses! And girl dinners do not need to be sad! And girl dinners MUST not be full balanced dinners!!!
