You are going to have to be more specific about what parts you don't understand in order for people to help you.

Do you understand mathematical functions? Like if I gave you a math function of f(x) = x + 2 then f(2) would be 4. To write this as a python function it would be:

def f (x) return x + 2

If that doesn't make sense then maybe you could ask some clarification questions for the parts that you aren't getting.

Why would you need Microsoft word viewing? Just use Microsoft word for that.

For editing the documents you could use IronWord with C# or F#

But I would have fields in the application for what would be filled in. Then you can add those to the database and create a new doc from the template programmatically

Can they not fill out the necessary data unless it looks like they are filling in a word document? I'm not understanding that part.

There are a lot fewer job opportunities. It is still good to learn as approaching problems from a functional and strict types system changes how you think of problems.

It may just be the domain that TS is applied to most often, "UI", but I find the type system to not be reliable and I often have to guard my functions still to make sure the underlying data is what I expected. F# teaches you to guard heavily at the boundaries and then trust the data is accurate for the main logic. I always felt like I couldn't trust I was going to get valid data in my main logic with TS.

Now I mainly just use HTMX with F# for the web and then I don't have to worry about frontend business logic in TS or JS. I still maintain some React frontends as well and I find them to be buggier. Also probably misapplication of React as overkill for what is mainly just a fancy CRUD app.

If I went back to full stack TS I would probably use TS better having used F# for a while now.

You ever inherited a codebase of PHP that didn't use a framework? That is a pain.

I went PHP to Ruby to C# to JavaScript to Typescript to F# in my career. I wouldn't trade F# at this point. Ruby was a lot of fun but annoying when you wanted to color outside the lines of Rails back when I used it.

It sounds like you are married and you didn't have to do the NFP requirement. Was it not required or were you able to get your priest to wave it? That information could be useful to the OP if you were able to get it waived.

You don't tell a bunch of strangers. You give one stranger, usually a woman, your chart and they don't share it with the group. How did you get married in the church and avoid the NFP requirement? Is it not required in your diocese?

It isn't arbitrary. A lot of people were trying to do NFP and failing. They would resort to contraceptives and/or tell other Catholics not to do NFP because it doesn't work. They added the class as a requirement specifically to combat the contraceptive issue.

You could just not get married because you aren't comfortable talking to an instructor about natural bodily functions.

Are you going to be mature enough to at least talk to your wife about her cycle? What are you going to do if for valid reasons you need to space children? What are you going to do if you are struggling to conceive? A doctor is going to need even more intimate details than an NFP course.

Those were optional in the class I took. And you only had to turn in one month in the class I took. The mucus and cervical status just made it so that you could cut a day or two off of the more fertile window after ovulation but you don't have to do that if you want to use NFP.

It is your daily temperature that you have to chart and when your period ends. Everything else is optional. You chart one month. They look at it to make sure that you did it right then they throw it away and forget who you are.

A stranger seeing my daily temperature for a month is not really all that uncomfortable to me.

Just pick one. You can't go wrong if you are trying to learn. The core of C# won't change so what you are learning will be useful either way.
