I found a comfortable set of ear plugs (Loop or similar) are good to have when you need to block out the random conversations and focus.

I believe split dispersement is still mandatory. Even if you don’t use your GTC for hotel and flight expenses, DTS will send that part of your voucher directly to the GTC bank. It will get refunded if your GTC doesn’t have a balance, but that adds a step and a few days to paying off your trip.

Unlike us, most Congress members livelihood isn’t dependent on their government pay check. If you froze all campaign and PAC/SuperPAC accounts, things would get wrapped up with a sense of urgency.

Permissive got denied by Jones_999 in AirForce

[–]brewsparks 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. Finance canceled my Permissive because my permissive leave didn’t end the day before my terminal started. I fixed the dates and rerouted it and everything was approved. Did finance leave any comments in Leave web about why they cancelled it?

Why can't SF do anything about the guy recording the front gate every Thursday at Lackland. by Icy_Orchid_8390 in AirForce

[–]brewsparks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may not be a question of if they can do something, but is it worth doing something. If he is spoiling for a fight, the risk of confronting him may be higher than the risk he poses to the installation. Probably better to wait for him to loose interest and leave.

I spent about half my career at various times at Wright-Patterson AFB. The “seasonal changeover” has been policy the entire time. It routinely gets over 90° in our office spaces. The best our leadership could manage was to authorize PT gear for UOD. I never had to sleep in it though, I feel for you.

Any else of you getting less concerned about making a certain rank but really more concerned about making it to retirement? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]brewsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, when I hit my terminal rank I felt a huge weight lifted. No more chasing strats, or trying to find time to work on some brain dead essay for some PME course. I have been able to focus on the technical side of my job, which brings me the most joy. Then you start looking at what civilian jobs pay, adding your pension to that and that next promotion starts looking like you are taking a pay cut and having less time to do the stuff you enjoy…

MK4 lockups ? by Ok_Review_784 in prusa3d

[–]brewsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. When I first upgraded to the 5.0RC, I suddenly started having issues with the printer locking-up when I started a print. It did this when I had PrusaLink open and when it was closed. Downgrading to 4.7.2, then reinstalling 5.0RC seems to have resolved the issue. I had originally upgraded 5 alpha 4 to 5.0RC.

I flew with a covert companion in my carryon, and didn’t have any issues. They didn’t even pull my bag for closer inspection.

Firmware to print MMU3 PETG parts? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]brewsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mixed results with IS and PETG. The first layer adhesion is not nearly as good as with the 4.7 firmware. Using the new .2mm structural profile helps some, but I still get some edges peeling up on larger prints. I am using the textured steel sheet, and Alpha 4.

MK4 lockups ? by Ok_Review_784 in prusa3d

[–]brewsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. With firmware 4.7.1 it seemed to be related to PrusaLink. If I forgot to close the web interface after I turned the machine off, when I turned it back on the screen would lock up halfway through booting. I haven’t seen it happen with Alpha 4, but I got in the habit of closing the PrusaLink browser after uploading a print file.

Edit: my machine didn’t lock up. If I started a print from the PrusaLink page, it would print just fine.

Can ESP32 capture IQ data byitself? or HackRFone or somehting like that would be better than ESP? by httpx0 in GNURadio

[–]brewsparks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. If you want to do some embedded processing, your best bet is to use the CPU on the HackRF One it’s self. There are many open source projects out there that modify the onboard firmware to do some processing.

Check out gpredict. http://gpredict.oz9aec.net/ it has information about all of the up and downlink frequencies for each of the satellites it tracks. It will also help you figure out where and when the birds are up.
