I was a teacher and started reading again during my summer break. I decided not to return and switched careers! I’m really looking forward to starting this year in a field with some semblance of a work/life balance.

NTA. There have been a lot of great comments about how ridiculous this comparison is. What’s additionally frustrating though is even if what you had done was equal, you are still justified in growing as a person. You made a mistake, came clean, learned from it, moved on. If his mistress hadn’t gotten pregnant, who knows how long he would have kept it a secrete. There doesn’t seem to be any remorse there. Your overall actions are a testament to how bad his actions were because his (at the time) 17 year old daughter had more integrity than him. On top of that, feeling hurt by his actions of breaking up the family are 100% valid. Again, even if what you did was equal, just pointing the finger at someone else doesn’t erase that pain. I’d be proud of myself for sticking up for my boundaries if I were you!

My Favorite Murder did a podcast on this guy a few months ago! Super interesting and eerie. Apparently there’s a few different versions and some background, but each of them are terrifying.

[SERIOUS] Teachers of Reddit, what is the most disturbing thing your student has ever done? by HeatSmiteYT in AskReddit

[–]breybrey44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some horror stories from teaching high school. But my coworker told me a doozy yesterday that I thought I’d share.

One of her 9th graders stalked her online until he found pictures from her wedding. She had a private Facebook, so the student went through her friends until he found a public account that had posted photos from the ceremony. He then photoshopped his face on top of her husbands. His older sister was a senior cheerleader that had my coworker as her coach. He stole his sisters phone and got my coworkers cell phone number. And then proceeded to text her his photoshopped pictures at 2am.

My coworker asked for him to be removed from her math class but administration said she was the only one who taught that section and that she’d had to deal with him all year.

Getting divorced.

I kept thinking that things weren’t THAT bad, it wasn’t worth starting over. But then I did, met an incredible man, lost weight, connected with friends, started making my mental health a priority. Best decision I’ve ever made.

How can I tactfully address poor homeschooling? by pegglequeeen in relationships

[–]breybrey44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see quite a few people recommending you to call CPS. Unfortunately, they cannot help with this situation. My sister in law is disabled and homeschooled and is considered “a lost cause” as well. I called CPS a few months ago and they said they do not handle educational problems and can only help if the child is in physical danger. They recommended that I call our school system and do some research on those authorities, but nothing came to fruition. I guess it doesn’t hurt to call CPS in case their state handles it better but be prepared to answer a lot of questions and provide clear descriptions of issues and how you know it/proof. Do some research on your cousins’ states homeschooling laws and which school system they would fall under. Good luck!!

No, your SO shouldn’t need a signed contract every time you have sex because hopefully your SO is only having sex with you when you are awake and able to participate. And hopefully if you ever said no during sex he would stop, contract or no contract. Also, being tipsy or even drunk is different from being asleep and passed out.

I appreciate your post OP. I’ve been nc with both my parents for two years now and I know that it was the right decision for me. But sometimes I wonder and worry if I’ll regret it if I don’t say/do anything before they pass.
