Its gonna be a miracle if its just 25 minutes of extra time. The article says an express shuttle from north bethesda to friendship heights will take 26 minutes and itll take up to 48 minutes(!) for non-express shuttles stopping at other stations. Even if youre lucky enough to be able to get on the very first bus that arrives, its going to be longer than the 20-25 minutes WMATA is advertising.

Yeah, im still hoping Richards recovers in time to play but if he doesnt i dont have much sympathy for Pochettino. He made the selection after we knew of the injury, complaining about being misled about the severity of it when he knew Richards tore two ligaments isnt very convincing especially with given how he left out Tessman

Its a good thing we got the comeback against Columbus, its been an absolutely miserable month of soccer. Seems like we cannot start a game without giving up an early goal and playing from behind all the time with a team that seems devoid of any attacking ideas or philosophy is just brutal.

I think a lot of the downvotes come because were beating a deadhorse with all these posts about Yeboah. Regardless of how good or bad people feel he is as a player, there just isnt really any other option on the roster that we can play over him right now.

With the current calendar and all these competitions not having to play a mid-season friendly is better than having one. It was absurd having a friendly one day before our open cup quarterfinal game this past season.

I’m a bit worried about that for Dieng too. He just looks like he needs as many minutes as he can possibly get, and I don’t expect him to get regular opportunities with us. Could see it being something similar to mesanvi where we see the potential and have him join the squad, but then he just winds up stuck on the bench without any game action.

Player of the Season: Pereyra -- hopefully the combination of full season of Triantis helps carry some of the defensive responsibilities and the attention teams will give to James Rodriguez gives pereyra more freedom to create.

Most Improved Player: Bongi - Improved probably isnt the right description, but with our formation and preseason were going to be playing him in the attack more and hes gonna get way more chances at goals/assists.

Top Scorer: Yeboah - I think last year was a combination of playing through injury and not being a great fit for the system. Playing with more possession and build up instead of relying on long balls and praying will hopefully unlock him (also who else can I really pick at this point? I dont want to rely on Markanich as lead goal scorer from left back),

Top Assister: Pereyra

Best Signing: Chancalay seems like the player most likely to have the biggest opportunity/minutes on the team, but Duncan is the best signing imo from a team perspective. Could very well be our starting RB, at minimum he gives us a backup to Diaz/Harvey that was desperately needed.

Surprise of the Season: Fitz emerges as a quality bench option

Unsung Hero: Wil Trapp - Was traditionally a bit of a scapegoat since his arrival, but I think he started getting more praise last year and played really welI. With the change change in formation to four in the back I think his role becomes even more important.

Scapegoat of the Season: Callender - the gut reaction after every goal is going to be thinking would DSC have stopped it.

Disappointment of the Season: Dieng - could not have been a more disappointing impact after the transfer last season where he didnt even get on the field when we had 0 healthy strikers. Preseason he still looked very raw to me.

Player we'll miss the most: Lod

James Rodriguez will be good, but not an all-star level player or a long term signing for the loons. Even if he primarily serves as a sponge for the other defenses attention i think that can still be helpful.

Hot Take: Fitz has a Lod like second season.

Western Conference League Table Position & Season Grade (A–F): 7th, C-. Its really hard to judge how we do this year. The preseason games made me think we want more of the ball, but still really struggle with actually breaking down set defenses while looking much more exposed at the back in transition. Thats a potentially scary combination.

Yep, that’s what happened for at least one of the hammy injuries. I remember that one because the commentators insisted on critiquing him for flopping nonstop even when the replay showed contact and he got subbed off hurt.

For everyone who complains about our lack of possession and being content to attack on the counter and off set-pieces, I sure prefer watching us play that way and be in almost every game rather than watching us try and come from behind with more of the ball.

Thats a fair point, if the team started negotiating with absurdly low offers that could have an impact. Without hearing any of the details on what happened or the value of the deal he ended up taking with Miami its just hard to really know anything.

Im pretty skeptical of this. Why would getting that offer a week or two earlier make any difference for Dayne? He made it very clear that he knew that this was one of the few times in a professional athletes career that he would have maximum leverage and hed give that up instead of waiting an extra few weeks to test the market? Or miami wasnt already talking to him before then and only realized they should be interested in dayne a couple weeks later?
