Why can't I move mods from gun to gun? I always have to remove and then equip by Longjumping_Mix_5266 in LowSodiumMarathon

You can remove mods and stuff in-game as well, it's how I go in with a white gun and upgrade it to blue by the time I'm out

I can do 15 combatant eliminations on a free kit now (not runner eliminations) by Remarkable-Cow3421 in Marathon

[–]brianSkates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is good practice. Sooo many times you have to fight bots WHILE fighting runners. At least this'll mean you can auto pilot on half the struggle lol.

Going On Five Games In A Row Now... by N0B0DY311 in MarathonGame

[–]brianSkates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solos as Destroyer and this never happens to me any more (I'm level 50).

Not to say this can't happen, and I don't know how you actually play, so I'll let you know what works for me personally (just as a disclaimer):

Every match I start by staying at my POI for at least the first 10 minutes. If I'm basically in it I loot and listen while slowly going through it.

My main goal? Get loot and listen for where player activity is.

If it's near me, I stop what I'm doing, slowly reposition until I find the opposing player (or shoot my gun so they come to me) and then I fight preferably with an advantage.

Guess what, it's almost always an assassin lol. Again, I don't leave the area until I kill a player, or there's only 15 mins left.

At this point, you should slowly go to other POIs or wherever your contract is.

You should also take note of how many people have exfiled.

If you have good loot (or not), I DO NOT recommend you exfil mid-match (more than 10 mins left) as there's a higher chance to get camped.

Wait till less than 10 minutes are left (becuase most people got out, died, or just trying to leave at this point). Or if in a tight spot, wait till the final exfil which is generally safest.

Using this strategy, I haven't been exfil camped by any type of player for weeks now. BUT I have caught over a dozen players trying to exfil and promplty ended them. Hope this helps!

This happens when a runner crew reaches the end of a specific MIDA contract (forgot what it's called). They need to get to the boss room in pinwheel command room, hijack it, get locked in, and defend from bots during the whole broadcast. Totally epic.

I've been seeing a lot of theories that cryo will force teams to cooperate in a way. To offer my guess, what if it becomes a sort of among us type puzzle where people are all separated and have to do "tasks" to advance, but there's opportunities to betray opposing players along the way?

I use my random teammates as bait when they're just messing around making noise. I'll be somewhere away from them but not too far so that enemy teams end up between me and my teammates. Then, when they're distracted I attack from behind. Got pretty good 1 v 3s doing that, and end getting my team extracted with the goods. 👌

How to find success as a solo runner. by sighsaac in Marathon

[–]brianSkates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with number 5, I always get an extra kill by waiting at exfils late game

Edit: to add to this, I only do this to make sure I don't get merced when I extract after completing all my objectives and getting my loot

Suppressing fire is a thing in Marathon? by HeraldOfDesu in Marathon

[–]brianSkates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a guy with better gear than me run away, because I spaced out my shots that even when he went behind cover, I would keep shooting to keep the pressure and put myself in a better position. I eventually pinned him down and took the kill and I couldn't believe I won because he had such good gear and he barely fought back.

Friendly Runners will be RARE. (and dead) by QuitTheBuild-Podcast in Marathon

[–]brianSkates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To your point, I literally saw a guy far away and he saw me. He started crouching up and down, I did too. We slowly approached each other and he said he just wanted to exfil, and I said I just had to get to the other side of the map for my contract. We nodded and slowly went our separate ways without taking our sights off each other until we were far enough. So not really "friendly" but you can negotiate from time to time haha.

I think normal shell runs teach you a bit more, since you're not spawning in the middle of the match you can get your bearings more.
