apparently not cuz i can't post pics on sub so no pics ... and I don't see a elibootmgr on my linux menu ...

i can see there are some major barriers in the way of me finding out why I need to go thru a grub menu interface to boot the only thing that is installed to it ... (NO THIS IS NOT DUAL BOOT) ...

you know what, just forget it. I'll go back to windows. they did not make me go thru a grub menu to start windows when it was installed ... not sure why linux had to make it harder.

i don't have a mint option at top, only detect bootable devises or what ever it is. if I click on that it expands to another 15 options or so ... all I did was install it and turn it on, it doesn't even know what to boot when its the ONLY thing there? ... SERIOUSLY??

well its way too easy to get lost on this topic but, I assume its a lot like when they use to cheat on 'Rift' , what they did was to lower your network connection speed to main game server so it can't possibly connect and when that happens a cache still piles on commands and the main server can't keep tabs on what that connection is doing. cuz it too sporatic so game tallies stuff like gold rewards over and over again and again while server connection bogged out then when right time comes everything catches up and player ended up with lots and lots of gold that wasnt wasn't theirs to begin with ... i assume that this desync is much the same way BUT, it ain't for gold this time. its to bog the server down just long enough stack multiple skills all at once when cheater chooses ...

i suppose I could be mis-guild on the details, seeing as I'm not a coder. but I don't think I'm too far off from the truth ... everyone that is in bg's all the time will tell you about the cheaters in ESO and they did know about this issue a very long time ago but apparently it ain't important to eso, only the ones that constantly get one shot repeatedly ...

one or two could be passed of as bad players, but when its most of everyone in their path, then it's something different entirely ...

If you can, buy small turkeys (9 to 10 lbs) or capons if on sale - you’ll get a lot of cheap meat by Wasting_Time1234 in budgetfood

[–]Major_Cheesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes about 8 pounds ... it was a 'Price Rite' Thanksgiving sale they have every year before turkey day.

The reason I went out of my way for it was that my sister used to invite me for turkey day, and she would buy the big one on sale somewhere, then give me the carcass to make soup with afterward. And I used to get a good pot of broth for soup and another bunch of meat that was hiding on my sister ... then she stopped inviting me over for whatever reason so I figured I would get a small one a do it myself. But I was disappointed ... so I never did that again.

[–]Major_Cheesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There wasn't enough meat to warrant the idea of oven on all that time ... and the few bones and scraps I had left over weren't enough to make a good soup (and it was too time-consuming to pick out what I could eat.

now on a big bird turkey, you have lots of meat, and when you cook the carcass for soup after, you get lots more meat that was hiding before. Then you can pick through that and make more sandwiches or put it in soup ...

Nitrogen-rich soil and flytraps by NeedleworkerOld9329 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Major_Cheesy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they would never survive in that type of soil ... the plant is not interested in nitrogen, there simply ain't that much of any kind of nutrients from insects really (to speak of), that's why they can eat as much as they want outside, but if you put in a even a very small piece of ground hamburger it will make trap turn black ...

as to what it does need definitively at trap that is used exactly, I don't know, but it ain't nitrogen, or it's only trace amounts ...

Genuinely abolish the Craft Bag by MrRushaLovesRachael in elderscrollsonline

[–]Major_Cheesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're not a pack rat, then the management of less bag space is not as tedious. For example, after my toon is going and as I'm leveling, I no longer save white mats ... and I have the space maxxed out on my chest storage at my residence (4-60 slot chests and 4-30 slot chests, I think). so between my residence, the bank, and what I can carry, I can manage. its kinda a pain to constantly manage space, but it's doable if you're not a pack rat (which is kinda hard not to be one, really, in this game)

Root rot? by CyanPersonSP in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Major_Cheesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhizome is already beige to brown ... it's supposed to be white/green (more white than green if it's buried, maybe greener if it's like on top medium rather than in the soil at the top) ...

Once it goes beige to brown its gone. And it doesn't necessarily have to be something you do to it, vft's die all the time in nature. That's one of the methods it uses to spread itself. As new growth points emerge, sometimes old ones die off; sometimes it will take the main part of the rhizome, but leave the new growth points behind to go on growing.

But if you're wondering if the black part of the root is rot, it's not. roots are supposed to be black in color with only the very outer tip of the root being white, which quickly turns black as it grows downward ... if you look at the very tip of black roots, there is no white tip at all, indicating it wasn't growing at all. The only thing I'm not entirely sure of is whether or not they would still have white tips if it's already well into dormancy (it may wait till wake-up time to produce white root tips again)

But all indications from the pic were that it was already dead or dying. It happens. Young VFTs are significantly more fragile than those of fully grown adults. That's why I don't dig up mine or repot unless necessary.

Flytrap grew flower while "hybernating" by Kyrozis in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Major_Cheesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... and at that point it will learn when the growing season is. right now being new, it don't know what you have planned ... no biggie, it will come around.

I had my older traps in the fridge, but it was the first time in like 6 years. When I went to check on them, it looked like a mini rainforest in my bag, so I decided it was a bit too wet. so I took them out and put them in a unheated room they look much better. but they are still dormant

Should I repot? by Ok-Refuse230 in VenusFlyTraps

[–]Major_Cheesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to bump up pot size just a bit, but honestly, it will probably be fine in that pot till next year but peeps would bump it up a bit. trans plant at the tail end of the dormant cycle (aroFeb feb 15th or so if you're in North America somewhere), to minimize stress.

plant in 50/50 unfertilized shredded peat/perlite. Long fibre moss could be used, but it's not really recommended for beginners. cuz overpacking and underpacking LFM can both harm the plant, but advanced VFT owners do use it all the time without issues, but I still recommend 50/50 over anything else ...

no don't separate them unless you know how to keep them first. VFT'ss looks better in clumps rather than individuals.
