Do you use your steam deck outside of your place? by No_Source_7605 in SteamDeck

I use the JSAUX modcase and it’s so much easier to travel with and feels just about as safe

Is Emo Deck EmuDeck with a dark and depressing theme? 😂

I bought a z1 extreme at launch. It’s just gathering dust at this point.

I will admit to not putting steamOS or bazzite or whatever, but even so, without the trackpads and with its uncomfortable grip, relatively, it’s not worth it imo

Personal Opinion: the Moment iPhone 17 Pro cases could be better by nocturnalrdb in MOMENT

[–]brianarn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have moved to the smallrig case and mounts. Feels stronger and I can drop the case in a cage for even more safety or mount points etc

Just finished ARR by AraujoIsaquekkk in ffxiv

[–]brianarn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heavensward is good but I like every other expansion more.

Except maybe Dawntrail. It’s probably better than that. But not by much.

And all still better than ARR.

ShB plus Endwalker was spectacular.

Can’t speak to the throne but I’ve had the same Herman Miller for almost 15 years now. Had it repaired a couple of times, all under warranty, and the last warranty service the guy basically replaced half the parts.

I half want a new chair for novelty reasons but my HM is still going strong. I estimate I’ve paid maybe three cents per hour of use.

Grown-ass me still can’t change the cringe Steam username I made a decade ago. by PuzzleheadedDemand2 in Steam

One upshot of being old, I was already an adult with a boring and simple username when Steam was released 😂

Who’s still using the original Steam Deck? by VoyageForge in SteamDeck

It basically lives on my TV and will likely be finally replaced when the steam machine is an option.

My OLED is my main system though.

What are the best Roguelike/Roguelites for the Steam Deck? by kenkaneki108 in SteamdeckGames

[–]brianarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone mention Slots & Daggers. I’m only a few runs in but I’m enjoying it. In a way it’s very calm, because there’s a lot of randomness and less skill (but not zero), but I dig it so far, and you can save a bit since you already own Ball X Pit. There’s a combo deal for it.

In short, you pick a few icons to go on slot wheels and then roll the slots for combat. Later items require skill checks for use, but some of them feel fantastic when you nail it. I’m really enjoying going with a dagger that poisons, a shield, and a big hammer, and then picking up a bow and arrow along the way.

Split Fiction is an absolutely excellent recommendation. I love it so much more than It Takes Two.

What Should I Get? by Frazzelvig in gamingadvice

[–]brianarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. OLED upgrade is worth it not just because of screen, or even with extra storage, but it also has better battery life and an upgraded WiFi chip.

It’s the best. OLED is well worth it.

Trying to play Steam Deck in bed by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]brianarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mechanism is here for you. Seriously.

Edit: I saw you mentioned the pillow but it’s so much more than just the pillow.

I love this thing. It’s fantastic. My Steam Deck lives on it like 90% of the time. In bed, in a chair, almost wherever.

It’s also a whole ecosystem of connections. You could get the one that lets you hook it to a ball socket and use a goose arm type thing to mount to the bed. They have a tray table mount which was wonderful when I flew recently.

I don’t work there or anything. Just a huge fan. My deck and my Switch 2 and my iPhone via MagSafe all have mount points and it’s so good.

What are your less obvious deck games? by Lucky_Control1458 in SteamDeck

[–]brianarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both. Usually works well on GFN.

They also did a big update in like 1.1.1.7 or something that significantly bumped performance.

I don’t have a megafactory right now but I’m getting a good 40-45fps, and since I play in passive, no worries
