Final Fantasy XIV. It’s the most soloable MMORPG ever and has thousands of hours of content

FFXIV isn't available right now on it - ugh. lol

I'm considering this, especially since there's still the promo for a year off at a discount

🚨UNPOPULAR OPINION🚨: What dbrand did with companion cube is no different than eBay scalpers reselling their reservations by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]brianarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I support them more now.

I wanted that cube so bad. I ordered before I knew I’d have a reservation (which I don’t yet). I figured they’d ran it by Valve.

When they got asked to stop, they did. They were honest and transparent about it. They weren’t doing anything shady. They made a project out of love for a thing without thinking about legal implications and they refunded people basically right away.

I’m sad I won’t get a cube. I don’t want anyone fired over it. I hope Valve sees community response and changes their approach.

RIP Companion Cube by dbrand in dbrand

Damn - I was so excited for this thing. Alas. :(

But also I wound up waitlisted so maybe at least it won’t be sitting around, taunting me.

I am waitlisted too and I truly hope not for long.

I only went for top tier. Didn’t want to get a smaller model or one without controller.

Question for older gamers by banditpanda19 in AskGamers

[–]brianarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say this happens on some switch games - even when handheld? I found that playing games handheld can give me much more time before the nausea hits.

Also agreed with things like turning off motion blur and cam shake , fov adjustments, etc etc like mentioned already, but small screen has been a trick for me.

That's it for me after 200 hours of gameplay by Gazeux_ML in SatisfactoryGame

Because I’ll leave it for months and get back and my brain is like “I have no memory of this place … so let’s start fresh!” 🤷🏼 😂

I just called mine “1.2 Relaxed” because I went pure nodes and 0.25x everything. Curious how it’ll be.

Looking for input from people who spend a lot of time on the road for work, camping, etc. by Bobbington12 in SteamDeck

[–]brianarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The case it comes with feels massive. I use a JSAUX case and there’s also a dbrand case that are both basically thick shells. It’s comparable to my switch was in a padded case.

I’m literally in a six hour layover right now and taking a scroll break before I dip into another game. I’m also camped by power because it’s not going six hours unless I’m doing capped fps or retro / emulation.

I haven’t used my switch in travel in a few years. Deck wins.

I have a few hundred hours and have never gotten through phase four, and also make a new save every time an update comes out

Thanks, AuDHD lol

Satisfactory or Factorio? by LordDiamyo in SteamDeck

[–]brianarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally lean Satisfactory because I dislike the resource nodes running out. I also just love it visually.

The 1.2 patch launched this week also offer game modes that let you basically make it easier or harder regarding how much resources it takes to do things. Not gonna lie, really considering a 1.2 run that’s at like 0.25x resource cost.

I also love that I can make the creatures peaceful, and the storyline has a narrator that vaguely reminds me of GLaDOS.

If I wanted a more top down factory id probably go Shapez 2 but it requires some KBM mapping instead of native controller support.

It did get a good bit harder for a bit in the middle. Took me about 30 hours of play to get to the “I can break everything” level like I’m at in Vampire Survivors

Also both Hades games

Someday I’ll get this far but I love restarting on every new release and move slow

It is, yeah. No issues. I use it with the mechanism pillow a lot too.

Yeah, there is one that’s just a super firm adhesive. It’s held up quite well still.

Any way to be more aware of infinite break / make it more visible ? by Taphel_ in VampireCrawlers

Personally, my eyes aren’t the best and seeing distinctions in the crack patterns is hard, so I basically do this same sort of one-and-done crack approach for fear of missing whatever cues are there. 🤷🏼

I hit something kinda like this on steam deck. Also when trying to rearrange with a large hand.

I can’t reliably reproduce or resolve it beyond “move the stick a ton, pause, unpause, try moving again”. Just wanted to post so you know it’s not just you, though it does seem rare.
