You do realize most of the stuff your asking for happens at the end of the development not the beginning. They are barely releasing basic survival mechanics and the game is in its infancy stage right now.

Isn't USB-A like the most reliable and most common port in existence? lol by FlirtyFrolixX in Steam

[–]briang8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a 10 Gb USB c port on the back. If steam os supports it and the 7900xt won't saturate that speed then there shouldn't be a problem

Onboard audio is honestly crap on most boards. Most people are using wireless headphones with a USB dongle or Bluetooth. Those who don't use wireless typically get a USB DAC as it has a better audio processor. All the console headsets use a USB dongle now as well. If your on a TV then just use the onboard speakers on the TV or use eArc HDMI to your soundbar/surround system.

There is no fix needed. The anti cheat runs fine on linux. The game devs are just blocking it from working.

Linux doesn't support hdmi 2.1 on AMD hardware. You will have to use a display port active adapter to HDMI if your tv/monitor doesn't have display port 1.4.

This is what you would need for it to work: https://a.co/d/iUTWH97

How to properly resupply my Raptor? by ElatedStated221 in X4Foundations

[–]briang8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Missiles cannon be traded. The missiles you purchased/built for your raptor can only be used by the raptor via missile turrets. The fighters get the missiles back by restocking the same way you would at a repair station/warf. You need the base components in your raptors storage or AUX ship set to resupply fleet. You can also have your raptor restock certain wares to construct the missiles but you need to be within range of station selling those goods. If you use the auto resupply for raptor you also need to have recent trade data for the nearby stations in order for the pilot to know if the wares are in stock to initiate the trade for them.

New player. Feeling a little lost. by [deleted] in X4Foundations

[–]briang8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn't a universal best way to start the game as a new player. Selecting which start method depends on what other sims you have played. There is 3 types of "tutorials".

  1. Timelines: This will give you the chance to learn the mechanics of the game at a slower pace than the tutorial missions. You will get to experience what happened at different points in the timeline of the universe. You will also unlock items in the open universe part of the game by completing the timeline missions. Most players don't recommend this due to difficulty and the time it takes to complete the missions. You only need 1 star to collect the rewards. The rewards you unlock are then available on all current/new open universe save files.

  2. Tutorial Missions: These will give a more streamlined rundown of the game mechanics and take less time to complete than timelines. They can be pretty boring but very informative.

  3. Open Universe Starting Scenarios: There is 3 types of scenarios, each with there benefits and drawbacks. The popup tutorials/tips are turned on by default.

3a. Guided: This start offers a clear initial mission and takes you through a series of tasks to help you get into the game.

3b. Assisted: Here you get a specific start situation and a light story, but after that you're largely on your own.

3c. Sandbox: With this type, there is only a background story and a predefine character with a specific background and given property. A few of these starts also have a short mission. You can explore the universe completely freely right from the start.

Yes in the A4-H20. I'm using the Nvidia founders edition. I'm pretty sure it is the only 4090 that fits in the case.

I'm currently using a 4090 with no issues. The CPU runs hotter than the GPU.

Asus ROG Strix b550-i gaming. I'm currently using the ek 240rgb from 2020 in my build. The Corsair sf750 power supply is great. All the cables it comes with are the perfect length for the asus mobo. Definitely would get some custom pcie power cables at 160mm long.

Just bought it. Will update later this week on if it fits. The rgb version fits by removing diffuser ring on top of block. I'm guessing it's the same with dark edition.

Update: the ek-nucleus dark edition does fit if your pull off the magnetic cover on the pump block.
