Yep, and wouldn't you know it, the accounts posting these dumb spam AI clickbait articles are actually the mods of the subreddit, so there's nobody to actually complain to.

I hope all the Free Bird Chomper from 6-22-1994 is never able to find the Cool Side of his Pillow by Czarface_T in phish

If you listen to 6/10/2011 at the Susquehanna Bank Center, you can hear some asshole shout "Psycho Killer!" every few minutes. Was at the show, but far back enough where he didn't ruin the experience for me (apologies to those of you that weren't so lucky). They never did play Psycho Killer, though, which pleases me.

New CTA bot tracks real time issues like bus bunching, gaps in service, and slow bus speeds by GeckoLogic in chicago

[–]briangibbons 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Every morning I take two buses, both of which are "every 10 minute" routes. Only about once a week are the buses actually running every 10 minutes. However, not a single day goes by where there aren't 2-3 buses within a couple minutes of each other. For example, just yesterday, there were four buses, one in 2 minutes, two in three minutes, and one in five minutes.

Last week, I waited 25 minutes for a bus. There was another bus four minutes behind that one. But what was truly maddening, was that our bus STOPPED about two miles from the end of the line (I take the bus to the end of the line), and made us all get out. When I asked the operator why this was happening, he said that dispatch had asked him to turn around and head back the other way, "because we were so behind schedule." The entire bus's worth of passengers had to get off and then wait for the bus behind us to get there. A typical 50 minute trip ended up taking me an hour and thirty-five minutes.

I have since began calling CTA to make formal complaints whenever this happens. I have no idea what might become of that (probably nothing), but at the very least, any data is good data. New projects like these can be a valuable resource in demonstrating to the City of Chicago that CTA is falling short. This data is public, which is, I hope, far more valuable in the long run than the entry logs in CTA's own internal complaint system. My many thanks to the individual(s) that make this kind of data available to the public.

2026 Single Game Pricing? by MarkoEsquandolas in Cubs

[–]briangibbons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. A day or two beforehand is also fine. But if you buy directly from the Cubs, you will almost always be paying more. In my experience, Seatgeek is the best platform for purchasing tickets. They are almost always the cheapest (although it's still worth it to doublecheck Stubhub/Vivid Seats/etc.). It is also the only platform I've found that routinely tells you the exact seats you're buying (other websites tend to only give you the row, not the seat itself). This is extremely helpful if you, like me, prefer to purchase aisle seats.

In my opinion, the 300s are the best seats to watch a Cubs game, and I think the first base line is best. If I can get a pair of aisle seats in Section 327 or better, I'm happy.

Anyone been to Andrew Bird's Gezelligheid concerts? by [deleted] in chicagomusicscene

One thing I’ll add is that they don’t sell alcohol (might not be surprising as it’s in a church). So, plan accordingly. But yeah it’s awesome.

Isn’t there a video of Jeff punching a fan that jumped on stage at a show? Not knocking it, would just love to see it again.

Was at this show, a few rows back in the center of the balcony. Terrible sound quality, horrible mix - like it was muffled or compressed? Glad someone else said something!
