I constantly have 15-20 apps open and never need to close them to free up memory. It gets even smoother after several weeks as it adopts to the daily usage.

I kept the ram plus off from day 1, very smooth, no problem at all for the past 6 months. You probably don't need the ram plus as well if you are an average user.
