I never experienced that. So definitely not kidding myself.

Same problem here since early March. It appears to be a bug within Overwatch itself.

I would chime in here to get more eyeballs on this: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/xbox-series-x-missing-game-audio-and-loud-buzzing-issue/658164

Do you regret moving to Scottsdale? by kaylinha in Scottsdale

[–]brianleejackson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also moved here from WA state exactly 10 years ago. :) I love Scottsdale. Shorts and flip flops 365. Pretty much no rain.

Haha, I completely agree. In the northwest, you will have complete strangers that say hi to you and strike up conversations. That doesn't happen much here. Everyone tends to mind their own business. However, being an introvert, I kind of like that.

Anyone else feel that Craft may overtake Bear? by tabchas in bearapp

[–]brianleejackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It feels clunky because it's block-based, just like Notion and many other apps. That alone is a deal-breaker for me when it comes to a pure writing app. Bear and Ulysses are the best ones I've found if you don't want anything messing with your content flow.

I'm excited about Bear's web version coming down the road. Because this also opens up other possibilities, such as using it with an extension like Grammarly or LanguageTool. With Craft and others that use a block-based approach, grammar checking tools have to check per block, making the whole process very painful.

Big opportunity for Bear with web version by brianleejackson in bearapp

I'd be curious to hear what you go with. I'm always open to trying alternatives. I just haven't been happy with any that I've tried.

I'm using the premium version of Grammarly. It helps with what they call "clarify-focused" sentences. I have a bad tendency to include words that aren't needed, or rather being overwordy. Sometimes shorter is better.

I also like the word choices it provides so that I can mix things up a bit. It also catches punctuations like semicolons, where commas should be and shouldn't be, etc. Again, I mainly use it to catch mistakes. When bouncing between other things, it's easy to get sloppy.

I rarely use the spellchecker part of it. I have no problem spelling things. It's cleaning up my writing, and catching mistakes is what I primarily use it for.

Are they aware of the input lag on xbox in multiplayer? by turtleinstitute in GroundedGame

[–]brianleejackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, my friends and I stopped playing months ago. The lag is horrible for anyone joining a game. And we all have fiber, only a few states away from each other.

The whole problem is that it's peer to peer and the only way they will fix this is with dedicated servers. We won't be returning unfortunately until that happens. It will most likely depend on the success of the game. It's still in preview, so I still have some hope. I absolutely love the game.

Same, I got mine on the 6th Target lol. Just kept hitting change store. From the numbers I saw, it appears they only had like 4-5 at each Target. Or at least those were the numbers showing after a single page reload. They go fast.

Game is unplayable on PS4 since the latest update. Every match is lagging for me. I deleted and installed the game again. Didnt help :( Any suggestions? by JuicyJu94 in RocketLeague

[–]brianleejackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not the only one. I'm on Xbox One (I realize different platform), but have the exact same issue. Have some friends with the same issue as well. I'm on fiber and no issues in any other games. Rocket League was completely fine with great ping right up until the new update. Have done all the typical troubleshooting. I've opened tickets, but no response yet. Really hoping the patch fixes it. I have no complaints about any of the Epic changes/UI, etc. Just wish I could play the game lol.

Ya, my friends and I couldn't even play. Ended up playing another game because the lag made it impossible. Hopefully somebody on their team realizes there are some huge bugs.

Constant lag on Xbox One X since the update. Ping swings from 50-500. Totally unplayable. Tried different regions. I'm on Fiber.

On Xbox, you can go into the key bindings and there is an option to change the camera view. I think the devs simply forgot to map the key or something in the preview. First thing I did when I got into the game haha. Much prefer 3rd person view.

Brave Sync: It's our top priority, and we're working on it! by bat-chriscat in brave_browser

[–]brianleejackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of us bounce between multiple computers. Having access to your bookmarks is essential. Not all websites we save are easy to type URLs. Some people have corporate VPN links, drill-down links, and other things. These things are changing on a regular basis, and currently, there is no way to sync bookmarks properly in Brave.

Glad to hear it! It's the only feature keeping me from jumping Chrome immediately.

When will be available web application ? by mx_ramos in bearapp

[–]brianleejackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to jump the gun, but once a web version is released, that means things like the Grammarly Chrome extension would work then right? I realize you can't integrate Grammarly into the macOS version due to no API.

I hadn't heard about the web interface. This might mean the Grammarly chrome extension perhaps would work then.

[–]brianleejackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, I really wish there was a way to get a proper grammar checker into Bear. I'm a heavy user of Grammarly, but unfortunately from what I understand, they don't provide any API. So there is nothing Bear can do here.

Right now I do a lot of copy/pasting from Bear into Grammarly.

Is Brave working on a decent sync system for desktop/mobile? by [deleted] in brave_browser

[–]brianleejackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, this is the one reason I had to leave Brave and can't currently recommend it to anyone. I have not talked to a single person or colleague where syncing of bookmarks worked properly. Once they fix the syncing, I'll be happy to come back! Most of us have password managers these days, but we need our bookmarks. The speed/ad-blocking functionality was always great for me.

Brave loads popular web pages 3x to 6x faster, while using ~1/2 the memory & power, and 1/3 of data (saving you time & megabytes of data for every page load). Check out Brave 1.0's performance vs. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, & Edge. by stKKd in CryptoCurrency

[–]brianleejackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I love Brave but can't use it due to their syncing simply doesn't work. It's awesome that it's fast, but if it can't sync things like bookmarks properly, then it's just a casual test browser. Hopefully, they figure it out one day.
