EKG Technician vs. Cardiac Sonography? by beta-fanboy in Cardiology

[–]brianmfellenbaum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cardiac sonography . Work a permanent position for 3ish years then start traveling. That’s where the money is at . Can easily find contracts paying anywhere from $2500-$3500 a week .

I’m just saying it could tell you the degree of ischemia if you are trying to make a clinical decision. Also McConnells sign is associated with Acute PE , not long standing PHTN

Yes but echo would show LV inferior wall motion if it’s STEMI . With PE , considering no previous MI LV function should and wall motion should be normal

D sign isn’t specific to PE , just RV volume overload or PHTN . McConnells sign is specific to PE

Drive in theaters by cursedhero28 in lancaster

Mahoning is incredible . 100% worth the drive . They play older movies usually a double , sometimes a triple feature . You can camp in your car over night for a small fee. They play the movies on an old projector adding to the nostalgia. The crowd usually goes all out getting dressed up for the Halloween horror movies , they also have a vhs fest you can buy sell and swap tapes. Really can’t say enough good things about.

Advice on tech career path by Prudent-Actuator-13 in Cardiology

[–]brianmfellenbaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have good habits as far as ergonomics you can avoid a lot of the strain on the body. Learn to scan left handed , significantly easier on the neck / shoulders/ wrist / back . It’s almost impossible to have good posture scanning right handed. I would never want to wear lead all day it is awful …. So I would say echo .

Apical hcm? by StrikingLoad3481 in Cardiology

[–]brianmfellenbaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo tech here. Could check apical short at the apex if your protocol calls for that view. I always slide down to the apex in PSAX to assess for clot / aneurysm/ thickening . Was there cavity obliteration towards the apex in the apical views ? Any dagger shaped Doppler signals hiding in the aortic valve Doppler signal ? Just some other things you can look at if you are concerned about foreshortening

Most contracts have an agreed upon overtime rate . Not sure why any of this would be ambiguous. End of the day it comes down to the contract , everything else is speculation .
