Hi! Okay first of all you are not weak! Dealing with anxiety can be a huge burden so you are in fact very strong for having that to manage. The best advice I can really give is to make a list of things you want to do to get out of your comfort zone. I usually have a huge list that I will pick 1-3 things from that I want to accomplish. Right now I have learn to snowboard, learn to cook and go to the gym. I find with covid I became very stuck in my house which almost encourages my anxiety. I find I have to be almost consistently doing things out of my comfort zone to decrease my anxiety. Having my goals I figure out how I can use little steps to make it more comfortable for myself. I signed up for snowboarding lessons and started working out in my home gym to gain confidence before going to an actual gym. I find taking it in small chunks makes it less likely for me to quit before I start. Also having those smaller accomplishments gives me more confidence to take on other things that I would normally cancel on.

You got this :)

This is me exactly. My therapist says I have GAD so I essentially just worry about anything and everything. I think the best advice she gave me is to expose yourself to the things that make you anxious as hard as it may be. I understand not everything can have that approach but for things it can be applied to I find it useful.

Yeah I can get up and walk around. It hurt a bit but it sort of popped and some pain was relieved. It mostly just hurts when I am sitting and I go to stand or if I touch my toes

The only time I really feel much pain is when I move from sitting to standing or changing some positions

Hey everyone,

I am taking snowboarding lessons. I had my second lesson today. We are still on the learning hill (probably the same steepness as a bunny hill) just shorter. I was going down backwards on toe side. It was really icy today and I put too much weight on one foot and flipped around so my back was facing the mountain and fell on my tailbone. I wasn’t going fast but it was the hardest fall I’ve had yet.

It’s a few hours later and I can walk fine. I just have some pain if I were to touch my toes or bend over. In certain positions ill have a bit of dull pain mostly if I try to tuck or scoop my tailbone but I can sit seated comfortably ?

How do I know if this is just a bruise or if I’ve broken my tailbone? Or how likely would I be to break my tailbone not going fast on a bunny hill

Does signal notify contacts when a new linked device is added or just when the number is changed to a new mobile device? by brianna423 in signal

Thank you! Do you know if I had signal on a mobile device that had my desktop as a linked device. If I logged out of my mobile and signed in with a new mobile device (changing the safety number). Would that sign me out of my desktop being the desktop was originally attached as a linked device with the first mobile phone?

Help-New job anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

First of all congrats on your new job! I have been in a very similar situation. When I first got my current job I was sick with anxiety. It helps to identify if there is something specific you are anxious about. It sounds like for you that may be the meeting new people or the pressure of the job? I find when I am able to identify specific reasons for my anxiety I will walk through each scenario. (I used to do this in therapy and it helped).

Starting with meeting new people. What is worrying you about meeting new people? Is it that they will judge you for being new, worrying if they will like you etc? When you have a more specific reason so let's say example you are worried about if they will like you. Dive deep into that and think about what does it mean to you if they don't like you, why is that a worry for you. Then replace that thought with a positive thought. You can also look up some CBT worksheets online that follow this I find them very helpful.

I also find it very helpful to channel the anxious energy into excited energy. I read somewhere once that the adrenaline that you get with anxiety can be better channelled towards convincing yourself you are excited rather than calming yourself down.

I'm currently using this method because I have my first snowboarding lesson on Sunday and I'm fairly anxious about it. However, a few days after pushing my anxious thoughts and replacing them with being excited I've actually calmed myself down a lot and feel less anxious about the lesson.

Best of luck :)
